| 2.8" here. Hole in the roof of my garden shed from one branch. Lucky to have power looking at another. Neighbors car had a branch all the way across it. It used to be a small yellow car. It is now a smaller yellow car. Eighth street and Fort both had cars stalled and water at least curb top high. Saw several emergency vehicles headed out on Golf Course Rd. Might be something in the paper about it tomorrow. | |

| Glad to hear that. Neighbors lost power across the street. Told them I would loan them my wet vac tomorrow. Other neighbors said they watched the branch put the hole in my shed roof. Said it bounced off of the power lines a couple of times before hitting building.
City has our street clear and passable. Police said the priority is in clearing the streets and making them safe. The neighbor gal was encouraged to wait until tomorrow to file a report on her car.

| It was SERIOUSLY ugly down here. That had to be a microburst or something. We've got limbs and a swing set and toys and lawn chairs etc freaking everywhere. Destroyed our peach tree and another huge limb from another tree hit our house. Weist had several windows blown out and there are powerpoles and lines down in several place in south Hays. | |

| Looks like 2-5 inch rain in alot of the Western half of the county with the biggest between Yocemento and Hays. I'm only showing about 1.3 in my gauge, but it could be worse. Not too far away in SW Trego county they got less than a half inch. Looks like Hoxie hardly got wet. | |

| You guys got our other forecasted inch and then some. Beginning to wonder when Luke's anti-rain curse for Ellis expires. The South end of Ellis did get 2+ inches though. I got 1.35 so didn't get skunked like SW Trego County. Probably be like last year and get 3 straight days of rain when I least want it.

| Get ready kids. This just in from the NWS in Dodge for the Hays area. - Quote :
- Update. Not a lot has changed, 100% chance for Sunday night and Monday. Snowfall amounts in Hays could be in the 7-9 inch range. There will also be stong and gusty winds that may cause drifting and white out like conditions. The NWS is leaving us under a watch right now and may change to a warning later tonight. Travel will be impacted and only go out if necessary.

| Now they are predicting lower totals here and nothing but snow showers by early afternoon tomorrow. But I'd rather see them wrong like this than the time they predicted 2 or 3 inches and we got 12. At any rate, I wouldn't trade for the ice storm expected in the South. Nothing more dangerous than Deliverance on ice.

| So how'd you fare in Topeka and KC? We got maybe 5 here but the cold is the worst part. I said piss on it and turned all my Christmas lights back on and shot some video of them with the snow falling. Might as well get something good out of this. Probably pissing off the neighbor though. He bitched last year because I ran my lights past New Year. He musta been outta weed. | |

In this kind of cold there aren't many inches of anything else. But I do have a whopping 36 to 48 inches hanging low. Of Icicles..........

| Well you East staters are set to get a bunch of inches again. We've only had a trace so far here, but the layer of ice was enough without snow. The sun should come back tomorrow and it'll melt off here. Sounds like KC will be digging out again though. | |

| My nephew says KC got about 18 inches. As cold as it's been I'm glad we didn't get much here. A 20 inch snow might be good for the water tables and such, but not when it's accompanied by, and then followed by, minus 25 or colder wind chills. Frozen pipes suck bad enough without wading and or shoveling through drifts to get under the house. | |
