Local Weather

Guess if you see any smashed windshields or flattened fields you'll know. I remember that softball size hail that hit around Hoxie years ago. Nothing was left growing in places. Even the weeds were gone.

Might have some weather on our way tonight and in about 2 hours,...looks like it will go west of us. (Sat night 6/26)

It saw Ellis Co. coming and decided to quit. The weather gods do tease.

Not with each other for sure. Maybe with a ground slug. The personality of the offspring would improve and it might gain some intelligence providing most of the genetics come from the slug. Or it could produce a slug that'd try to make all of it's brothers feel guilty about making slime. Either way, it'd be an improvement.

I found an inch of rain in the guage this morning...Fantastic! The lawn was dying.

Not bad here. I'll gladly take cool days in July. The garden likes the rain and the lower heat.

We're expecting the "cool" weather tomorrow. Waiting so see exactly what is considered cool.

Upper 70's is what we expect. If it's with low humidity it would be a treat. But my vacation ends tomorrow.

I tried taking a picture earlier when I was driving in Olathe during the monsoon but couldn't get the pics to turn out. After work driving back into Garnder the ditches were full of water and it was a nice light show. There is still a nice light show going on outside right now.

this wet stuff from the sky was falling here in Bunker Hill also Ratz. But tomorrow we get to pay for it in humidity!!!!!!!

I can't believe they let that lame excuse for a baseball game at The K go on in that downpour. They should have called it at 9-1 in the 6th. Guess they had to let those 23 people in the stands get their full money's worth.

Yep predicting temps of around 100. I wanted a good heavy rain, but not followed immediately by 100 degrees.

Yeah it was crappy last week. Between yard work, vehicle issues, working in insulation at my house, etc., after I'd already steamed at my regular job for hours I did little but sit in front of my AC "itching" after each days work. Did you get out while here?

We got cooler days coming. I just wish rain came with the humidity if it has to be humid. Some get too much rain, others a county away not enough.

I don't like the 100 + temps, but I like icy roads and the perpetual sinus and ear infection of winter less. A nice 60 to 80 range with no humidity would be nice though. October is will be here soon and the 100 degree routine will be done. Then by December or January we'll be freezin our butts off wishing for some warm days.

No Blackie, we'll get that in about October. Only problem is that the nights will also be getting cold. And after this 100 plus crap 30 degrees will feel damn cold at first.

That high 90's and 100's day after day has a cumulative draining effect. Bad thing is just when you really get used to the heat it starts to get cool and then you gotta re-adjust.

it was about 80 in Co Springs today, absolutely beautiful!

Storm blew in, temp dropped from 102 to 76 in a matter of minutes.

Early Monday the weather forecast showed a big chance for much needed rain Monday night into Tuesday. They said expect "heavy downpours at times with 1 to 2 inches possible Monday night and an additional inch Tuesday". As is par, Southern KS and Nebraska are getting lots of rain. And as usual I'm wishing the weather service would quit forecasting rain for here because I'm sick of disappointment.

There's a gentle, light rain here. It's supposed to last all day.

Yeah I remember your curse. Wish for rain all winter instead of snow. Rain begets rain, and drought begets drought. And it takes a foot of that frozen crap to make an inch of rain.

I've lost faith in the NWS and Merrill after the 90% chance of heavy rain prediction....
