| Ok just so that I understand this, I thought I would ask more questions. While driving to work the other morning I was catching the Mix 103 news. Callie said that with the tax increase to property owners, they take 16 houses that were sold in 2007 and then sold again in 2008.......So out of those 16 houses, 15 were in better shape in 2008 than 2007 So if all that makes sense Someone, lets say a city official, can maybe buy these houses or fund it somehow, have them fixed up and sell them, raising our taxes? If not a city official, then anyone really right?
of course set me straight where Im wrong

| I think the appraisals are worked to the best advantage of government no matter how they are done. It's a simple deal, they want more money so valuations or taxes are increased. If you can't pay, they take your stuff, sell it for what they can get out of it and they keep the money. Then they spend it on new offices and buildings that really aren't needed. America, what a country !!! We were founded because they rebelled against taxes. A new government was established and taxes were implemented. | |

| It's kinda like this.... This week, my son took the trash out to our new and improved polycart. 1 bag wouldn't fit. He sat it beside. (He didn't know the polycart rules). I get a letter from the city regarding bags left beside the can the next day saying that there is a problem that if I don't address, that they will. Meanwhile the new visitors center sits empty. | |

For what it's worth, a week or two ago there were many cars outside the visitor's center. Maybe between 20 and 30. And they were there for a long time. I'm guessing there was a meeting of some sort.

| I'm still confused on why the city is wasting money on extending 22nd street to commerce parkway? I could see it if there more more businesses on Commerce Parkway but there is hardly anything on that section of road. Lets see there is the Army Reserve center and the Vo-Tech is in the area where 22nd street will pass through. The city should be using this money to repair streets that are in need ie Main Street from 21st to 26th, 8th street from Vine to Milner, Fort, Ash, 6th, 7th, 13th. | |

| You are so correct about 22nd street but someone's pocket in Hays is being padded as Tallgrass wants to come in to buy more property and build those shabby homes they build and sell for mega bucks. They needed 22nd street for there latest venture. | |
