| I guess hardly anyone is calling the city and complaining about the smoking compost. My Daughter with the new baby did and they said they would consider taking the burning compost out side city limits, What can we do to make sure of this? Let me know what I can do! | |

| Welcome to the city of Hays, a little city pretending to be a big city, a city that has to deal with water rationing each summer. The solution, plant flora near the Interstate, the most poluted place in town. The city that builds it's visitors center at the corner that every business who has occupied that space due to lack of access has failed. The city who gave you the "great blue poly-cart,
Shit, I'm tired of typing....
Welcome to Hays. | |

- The smoke from the burning compost pile is bad for the lungs of everyone! Not to mention babies, non smokers & smokers alike , also people with lung disease. They should put the compost pile well out of town. I felt like I was in a room of smoking cigarettes for two days there. I thought I was getting infected lungs and ready to call my Pulmonology Doctor . Add the burning of animals from the vets, man they are going to kill me!!!!! I had to leave Hays and go to Ellis!!!!! Then I found out that it was the compost pile. .... Don't get me wrong. We need the compost....just not the smoke
Ellis has had the occasional smoke from burning tress in it's dump for decades, and until the 70's every town burned trash in their dumps. How lucky they weren't burning trees when you were in Ellis for surely you may have expired. I understand it can be annoying, but in your case I suggest you should live in a plastic bubble. You're very fortunate that you didn't live in the early days of Hays with wood and coal fired heat and cook stoves, oil lamps, smoke belching locomotives, and trash fires in yards all over town.

I'd have absolutely died at a very young age. The smoke from grass fires over here is about to kill me. *cough*hack*Ugh*

| I'm not going to live in a plastic bubble, they need to put the fire in a plastic bubble! We all need to do our part to insure our earth is livable. If not out earth isn't going to last as we know it! We have been told for years that we are going harm to the earth....and what did we do to better it??? Nothing!! Yet add more harm!!! If we keep going as we are ..... I'd say in 19 years if will be irreversible no joking | |

| Before man came wildfires started in what's now Texas or Oklahoma and sometimes burned all the way to Canada. Entire forests were wiped out on a routine basis. It was intended to be that way. Natures way of cleaning out the old to make for the new. Trust me, one compost pile won't destroy the atmosphere. And My grandmother who was born and raised in the coal and oil lamp era lived till 92 with no cancer. Cancer was less common to that era than our own. It's not wood smoke or grass causing the cancers. It's mans chemicals. suzyr.... You'll be ok too. | |

| You want to smell something foul, just wait till them cats have whizzed all over the compost and it catches fire. I remember idiots "me included" in Boy Scouts who tried to be good to Smokey The Bear by peeing on the campfires. PU!! | |
