Vacation how many will take one, with high prices!

My spouse thinks we should go somewhere. But where will prices end. Also with so many things to do at home. Drive or fly how will one travel? I never flown but see all problems with Airlines and now have no desire. I'll have to see how summer prices are like if we take vacation! Maybe i'm a scrooge!

Family reunions don't really count as vacations, do they?

I'm seriously thinking about coming down for Wild West Fest this year.

Who all's gonna be there?

we are undecided at this time. we would like to go somewhere for a little while but where is uncertain

only type of vacation i take is the 8 hours a day that i am at work. it is great, i get to get away from the wife, kids, house, chores, and my never ending fix and/or replace list

Mount Rushmore would be a neat place to go see. So would the Little Big Horn battlesite. hmmmmm.......

You're fine as long as you stay away from MD 80s and avoid United. We took a United flight to Italy last year and it was the worst trans-Atlantic flight I'd ever had. Even worse than the 1984 flight from Germany to Louisiana in jump-seats on a C-141...under the hydraulic pumps...in winter...I digress. ( don't buy the hot dogs at the Gander Newfoundland...um..I guess you could call it the terminal.)

Fly Lufthansa! Business class! Without Cadet Wulf. Otherwise it's like making carrier night traps...he had the whole damned runway! We should have had a harness rather than a seat belt...ugh! ( I didn't realize there were so many air brakes on a single wing!)

Orlando is cheap right now. You can take a family of four from Kansas City and get a room at the Continental Plaza Hotel and a Hertz rental car for as little as $270 per person. Of course, amusement park prices are pretty high.

Alzso, for $229 per person, the same family of four could spend four nights at the Palace Station in Las Vegas, including airfare from Denver and a car. Only problem there is that it's on Frontier Airlines, which filed for bankruptcy yesterday.

Found those deals on Expedia. There are bargains out there if you look.

I guess the magic number is ten hours for food. They at least they fed us something. Needless to say, just getting pulled away from the gate in Chicago was an adventure. We roll away, taxi out to the runway, they start ramping up and then all of the sudden shut it down. The plane turns around and taxied all the way around back to the gate. Pilot comes on over the speaker and states that they have forgotten some vital paper work.....

I will say this, he was one hell of a pilot. He put that 747 down in Frankfurt in one hell of a storm. I shook his hand and thanked him.

Just took one,cost me $800.00 to go to IOWA!!!!!!!

Don't think I'll be making it anywhere this summer...just got a new job, so I have to wait until I have enough vacation time built up.

The hubby wants to go on a trip a couple of states away. He also wants to drive the gas guzzling truck. I take care of all finances in the house and I just don't see this one happening, but I will make every effort just for him.

The only vacation I will take is on the motorcycle with the pop-up pulled behind. Good thing my lady enjoys camping, riding, and McDonalds.

Kayak is another web site that offers low airfare. It searches all available airlines and gives you a list to choose from. Quite nice, actually.

Wowza, I just went and filled up, when I first got my little 4 x 4 with it's small 15 gallon tank, I never spent over $30. Today, it was $45. That was pretty painful!

FYI wholesale price of gas is 3.405/gallon....OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

For heaven’s sake, just keep buying the gas you need. My petroleum stocks have never been higher!
