Does anyone know how long it takes for the County Attorney (Ellis) to file charges on someone after an arrest?

Call the County Attorney office and find out. Could take up to a year.

I "think" that if they haven't done it after a year, then it's dropped. My son was supposed to face a few charges and lose his driver's license and it never happened.

Isn't the statute of limitations 7 years?

Actually, there are different statutes of limitations for different crimes.\

I wasn't trying to be a smarty pants, actually I thought the statute was 7 years also. But decided to look it up on the net.

I told my son that he had lost his driver's license right there while in court and wouldn't let him drive for about 9 months. Then the little stinker called the courthouse or the DMV and he did still have it.
