Lordy people -

There's supposed to be a house on 5th with a reputation of being haunted by an evil presence. Any idea which house?

Nope never heard that,

It was discussed on the old forum once. Some claimed it felt really bad in the place, and anyone who knew the house didn't like it. I'd be curious to see if it could be high EMF levels or if something really is wrong in a paranormal way about the house.

All i got to say is wowza!!! I was sitting at the stoplight in Olathe a while ago and seen the lightning and could still hear the thunder over the radio playing in the car.

It's instantaneous, the flash-boom. Not a good mix with 2 yr olds.

I can't believe the amount of rain we've gotten today. Seems like maybe we should start thinking about building that boat! And, we want to go to the Royals this weekend, but the weather forecast changes every 10 minutes, so we don't know which day to shoot for~ Grrrrrr!

Radar estimates (which I have found to be pretty accurate) show that in places like Scott County where the tornadic storm passed, they had up to 10 inches of rain.

We had .75" of rain over the last two days.

I only got .40 here in hays.

Had exactly 1 inch in the gauge here.

Really? 70° there? It's cloudy, windy, dreary and chilly-willie over here. Perfect napping weather.

It's breezy here, but nice.

It was kinda hot here for awhile today if you were in the sun.

Not looking forward to summer; not a fan of the extremes in Ks. weather.

Anyone visit with the Vortex folks this year?

Heard they were in Hace today. Waiting to chase dem dere ternaders. Ellis, Rooks, Trego, and Russell Counties were just put in a severe storm watch. No ternader watch yet.

I went up and looked at their equipment, was pretty cool. They pulled out of Hays early this morning.

Tennis ball sized hail reported in Dickinson County. Yikes! Hope it peters out before it gets here.

Silly me, I feel bad for livestock stuck in fields with no protection. I know, I can hear it, somebody's going to make a comment about tenderized steak, still walking around. Still...

Yeah, I feel bad for critters too. It's gotta suck to be pelted with softball size hail. I've had hail the size of hens eggs hit me and it kinda smarted. I saw some cattle that went through an F3 tornado. They survived but they took a beating. My grandad had his skull cracked by big hail.

It had to suck being an early pioneer traveling in bad weather without a metal car roof for protection too. I wonder how well bison skin teepees did in big hail?

Everything Ive been reading is pointing to Monday to be a perfect setup for Tornadic thunderstorms in Kansas. Get ready kids.

I read that the southern part of the state,particularly the Wichita area is most suspect for the severe stuff.

looks like western kansas will not have too much to worry about from the looks of this forecast

thats what I am most worried about... we have to go to Wichita on Monday to get Buffs staples/stitches out of his arm.. stayin at a hotel with no basement.

Our area could easily be the starting point. I know they expect the worst in the East, but some maps show all but a small part of the West in the possibillity and it's not unusual for violent storms to start in this area before rolling East. As usual, wait and see.

There's a heavy mist falling now. NWS says bad storms may depend on if it's cloudy or sunny tomorrow. If it stays cloudy there may be nothing more than rain and hail.

I don't want hail either, I just got a new vehicle!!

When I went out south on the blacktop and got down around the general area of Butterfield Trail on south, the fog was so thick that visibility was less than 1/4 mile for a while.

We are fine, took shelter at the Towne East "shelter" with about 200 other people. Thanks for worryin about us tho!

We were watching wondering where you were when that warning was out for Wichita. I could see by radar the large hail was over and it wasn't looking as hot going into town, but it was still a well defined cell, so a brief touchdown wouldn't have been impossible.

THOR and I spent a little time in the basement watching live-streaming KSN. Nothing came of last night's weather here in Wichita, but there was some damage SW of town.

We got bypassed with the severe stuff last night here in KC, just some heavy rain but it sounds like tomorrow could be a different story. The sun is suppose to come out tomorrow so that could mean trouble tomorrow afternoon.

It's not that we didn't think of you. We just knew someone as full of it as you wouldn't blow away and your head would deflect debris away from Thor.

I probably going to be awake now for a while, got woke up at 3am with 2 close hits with lightning. The dog freaked out and now he wont leave my side.

I hope he's not one of those dogs that pisses all over himself when he's upset. Maybe that's why I like cats. They usually just look around when lightning hits close and go back to whatever they were doing before. But if a normally secure cat suddenly hides under the furniture then the shits gonna hit the fan.
