| We were in Hays to celebrate the 4th. On our way home (to the inlaws) Saturday night, there was quite a commotion on Ash street right about the Lincoln school area. It was about 1:30 am, and involved several firetrucks, and police cars. We were routed off of Ash street so we aren't sure what was going on... Any one know what the deal was? | |

| Possible structure fire at Lincoln Elem. School. Someone reported seeing smoke coming from ontop of the roof of the school. | |

| No fire in the school. It was something burning in the backyard of a house by the school and when someone saw the smoke it looked to them as if it was coming from the school roof. | |

anything that happens in Hays will involve several fire trucks...... hell , if the ambulance goes out on a call for a hangnail, trucks are rolling to respond. talk about a waste of fuel and money, especially at these gas prices.

This one was legit. There seems to be alot of the "Roll it all in case you need it" attitude nowdays. But I agree there's alot of those calls where nothing more than a cop with a bandage would be needed.
