| Damn that sucks and I'm going to be passing through Hays on Monday. I won't be able to eat at Al's. | |

| Another special piece of Hays history gone. Wonder what'll become of the sign? Al's and Ted's Steak House probably had two of Vine Street's most memorable signs. | |

Pretty sure that they were always closed on Mondays anyway. Has this been confirmed by the owners or management of Al's? It may be true, but lots of rumors float around Hays. Olive Garden, for example.

And you told yourself it was closing. Sorry, couldn't help it.

| heard it may be due to taxes, source has nothing to do with als, so hopefully it will get all straightened out and reopen in due time. told the kids to get their chores done and we will go eat there again today. although i don't eat there on a daily basis I do eat there at least once a month and that is probably more then 90% of the rest of the population in this town eats there. | |

| Well that's a shame. The Supreme Commandress would insist that we go there on occasion for their chicken & noodles... now that we no longer reside in Hace, she's even commanded that we detour off of I-70 just for said noodles. I prefer a liver dinner myself. | |

| I worked there in high school and am still friends with a member of the family. Taxes have nothing to do wit it. They are closing due to a crappy economy period. In other words not enough people ate there to keep them going. Its too bad. I ate there on average of once a week and Im really going to miss it. Of course now that they are closing, they've been hammered with business this weekend. There will be an article in the Hays Daily on Sunday about the closing. | |

| They should close up like some furniture stores have done.
Heavy advertising "CLOSING SOON" and 10% off for 3-4 months. Then you can afford to reopen with a new name. In this case change the name to "Original Al's Chickenette"

| Being in Ellis I rarely get to Hays unless I have to get something, but when I was working in Hays I had lunch there almost daily. Good old fashioned fried chicken that I never tired of. | |
