Yep, how bizarre.
From the AP
Quote :
– Pop giant Michael Jackson, who took to the stage as a child star and went on to set the world dancing to the thumping rhythms of his music for decades, died Thursday, TMZ website reported. He was 50. "We've just learned Michael Jackson has died," TMZ said. "Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the entertainment site said. There was no official confirmation of the reported death and spokespersons for Jackson could not be reached for comment. Earlier, the Los Angeles Times said that the singer had been rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital by fire department paramedics who found him not breathing when they arrived at the singer's home. The newspaper said paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the scene before taking him to the UCLA Medical Center hospital. Jackson had been due to start a series of comeback concerts in London on July 13 running until March 2010. The singer, whose hits include "Thriller" and "Billie Jean," had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months. The shows for the 50 London concerts sold out within hours of going on sale in March. Jackson started out as a child star in the band "The Jackson 5" more than 40 years ago. He has lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation. There have been concerns about Jackson's health in recent years but the promoters of the London shows, AEG Live, said in March that Jackson had passed a 4-1/2 hour physical examination with independent doctors.

At least the 13 year old boy who accused him of child molestation back in 1995 got a Twenty Million Dollar out of court settlement to shut him up.

Just stating the sad but true facts of a perverted and sick man. The man multilated his body with all the plastic surgeries and kooky Medical procedures, wore thick heavy makeup that made him look like a Walking Corpse. He admited in Court that he was sleeping with young boys, and he was by all accounts trying to be the Elvis of the 80's and 90's by living on prescription medications. He squandered his millions he made and was hoping this latest tour would let him get out of a mountian of debt.
Ding Dong the wicked Witch is DEAD!!! At least all of those little boys are now safe!! And all of this from a little cute black kid who was pushed into the music busines by his father to make a buck, child exploitation at it best.

Most of what you say was never proven. Widely rumored, yes. Proven to be a fact? Not so much. I admit my comment about his debt was a bit tacky under the circumstances. But what you have to say about the man is way beyond tacky.
I urge you to show a little discretion in your comments.

He was simply one of the many manufactured musical artists, overhyped and overly promoted by Motown, MTV and his Father, let me reitterate it once again, if his abusive father (Fact) wouldn't have forced his kids into show business he would probably have been just another little black kid from a family band in Gary, Indiana who would have been a blip on the local music scene.
He was a freak, an androgenous mutant that just hid away from the world and lived in his fantasyland, I'd bet the ranch he had a ton of enablers just like Elvis and Anna Nicole Smith feeding him mountians of bullshit to feed his ego, peeling off millions of his dollars and peddling him enough pharmaceuticals to knock an Elephant's dick in the dirt every day. It'll all come out eventually, it always does and it won't be any surprise when it does.

I didn't much care for him, but he was an innovator in his industry. In both music and dance he was constantly on the cutting edge. At least when he was producing. Many musicians were influenced by him. Like him or not, he changed how his industry looked at music and dance.

Most people that have that much fame and money become very eccentric. People around them are going to treat them differently also. People around them are also going to take advantage of them because of being eccentric, rich and famous.

Yes he retained custody. There was a picture of him last week with his oldest son online. He maintained custody of all 3 kids.
I really liked him back in the 80's before he got all bizzaro. However I never did buy that whole child molestation thing. I honestly believe that was two families making a buck off of him and that pretty much ruined him.
The LA corner is going to do an autopy tomorrow apparently. And CBS is having a special on him tonight at 9pm.

My first thought when I heard was "well, at least the poor bastard is out of his misery".
I've little opinion on his music. I was a kid when Thriller came out- and was kinda ambivalent about the whole thing then, too. But I really feel sorry for the guy in an odd way- he had fame, fortune... could've had pretty much anything that anybody desired... and yet he was a sick, miserable sonofabitch. Really, I think it's best that he's out of his misery. Kids are safer for it... and we don't have to watch the guy grow old.

I kinda think he was miserable in more ways than one. Anyone who went through so much cosmetic surgery had to hate themself. As far as watching him grow old, you got a good point. The way he looked now I'd hate to see what he'd have looked like as an 80 year old white woman.
Was he a major influence on music and dance? Yeah, but nothing I'd listen to. Well, I guess I have heard a tune or two that I didn't mind by Marilyn Manson and he may have been influenced a little by Jackson's freakish ways. And as far as the special on tonight, I'd rather have watched highlights from Ed McMahon's career.

ALLEGED!!!!! He allegedly molested a child. I think, as well as a plethora of others, that he was taken advantage of. You see someone who is rich and famous and apparently too trusting, there are some creeps who are going to try to take advantage of them.
He had some quirks about him....big deal. Everyone does. I don't think he was a child molester. I think that, in his mind, that he was still a child. Some people seem to regress back to or they still live in a time period that they were the happiest. Maybe that's when Michael was happiest...when he was a child.
I guess they do come in threes...Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.
