PostSubject: Earth Day   Earth Day Icon_minitimeThu Apr 23, 2009 8:02 am

Did anyone else celebrate Earth Day? I did several things to honor the most useless pseudo-holiday of them all:

1. Left all the lights on in the house all day.

2. Left my car running while I was at the gym.

3. Took a total of four extra-long showers and sat in the hot tub for longer than usual.

4. Ran the dishwasher with just a few dishes in it, during the heat of the day, with three packets of soap.

5. It got warm outside, so I drank extra plastic bottles of water.

I bought some rare wood that was grown in an unregulated environment.

I cut it using large power tools when hand tools would have been sufficient.

I then decided I didn't like the router bit that I had chosen to finish the project so I bought more rare lumber.

Had to run the air conditioner to keep the tools cool.

Purchased Carbon Offsets to eliminate guilt.

Chastised an overweight person for causing Global Warming.

There's nothing like the sound of a chainsaw in the morning.

I threw recyclables in the trash, smoked many a cigarette where non smokers might enjoy the scent in the breeze, drove uptown just for a cup of coffee, and had several episodes of gas for my co-workers to savor. Smile

I could one-up all of you with what I did on Wednesday... but I refuse to self-incriminate.

But the irreversible damage that you do to the environment by riding your moped to the grocery store is morally wrong and should be taxed heavily.

Pay up, bitch!
