- Cutting state benefits, idiotic....I don't think so. My father worked at FHSU and his income was very sufficient. It allowed my mother to never have to work one day. And there were three children in my family. In this day and age, I don't know very many families that can live on one income, but it sure helps if you work for the state.
Do you know how much health insurance costs for family coverage? My husband hasn't worked for the state for 6 years, but when he did, the family coverage premium then was over $300.00/month and he made 31,000/year. He worked for the state for just under 14 years. You think that's good? Depending on how many peope are in your family, how many females that were in their "birthing years", coverage, and deductables, that could be a good deal.

| Check out how much that BCBS insurance policy costs a month if you don't work for the State of Kansas. | |

| They just said on the KWCH 5:00 News the Queen Katheren has signed the bill, so everyone will get paid friday and they will resume Tax Refunds.
On the BCBS Insurance, my Mom has the Plan 65 Medicare Suppliment and I thought her premium was overblown. That was until I went and tried to find a replacement for it that was cheaper. Every plan I found was at least three times more expensive than the BCBS plan.

I don't know who's paycheck that is but I'm sure my husband would like that... He gets about that ever TWO weeks and thats before benefits are taken out. More people can live off one income if they know how to budget. I was working at another job but it wasn't worth it sending two to daycare off what I was making so we just decided I would stay home. Now we live paycheck to paycheck but it's worth it to me saving over $200/wk on daycare. Trust me at FHSU my husband deserves every penny he earns. There is no way in hell I'd ever do his job. But Cutting benefits IS idiodic, people rely on heathcare insurance. The more people you start cutting benefits from the more that go crawling to the government for help thus putting the government even more into debt.

We filed around the same time and got our homestead back two months ago. Last year I'd forgotten to include some information they needed and they don't notify you of that in a very timely manner, it took me calling in July to find out that they needed the information. The letters for people missing info weren't due to even be sent out til August so it would have been a LONG wait if I hadn't called.

I always found that word "potable" kind of funny. I don't much care if I can drink the water in my pot.

Yes, I know that. And when nothing goes wrong... it doesn't cause any problems. But things go wrong, of course. And the practice occasionally ruins peoples' water supplies. So it ought to be regulated just like EVERYTHING ELSE that can affect water supplies. BTW- I've worked on a few frac pumps lately. Impressive pieces of machinery.
