| The Denver Broncos fire Mike Shanahan and hire Romeo Crennel as their coach. The Chiefs hire Bill Cowher as GM and head coach leading the team into the playoffs on their way to a superbowl win. Kansas Jayhawks will turn their basketball season around and win a 2nd straight national title. | |

I expect possible flooding and another big tornado year. I expect more large tornados and heavy damage, but not as many overall as this year. - Quote :

Sure they will. They'll keep collecting tax money to pay for it.

Sure they will. They'll keep collecting tax money to pay for it. The property will be sold, the building blown down (I'd like to witness that), the ground razed, and a new, shiny Target will take its place.

| That building actually has some memories. My dad was with the Highway Dept. in the 60's and early 70's and I'd ride that far with him and then walk the rest of the way to school. He'd buy me one of those oatmeal sandwich cookie things there for the way to school. Once I bitched about having to walk from there to HJH cause it was like 10 degrees and windy. But as I passed Ted's Steak House I found a $5 and a $1 bill laying in the grass. That was a good find for a kid in those days. | |

| Economic news will quickly take a positive turn after Obama's coronation- largely for psychological rather than economic reasons (a.k.a. "Librul Bias"). But this will aid in a quick recovery as consumer sentiment and investor confidence are driving factors in the economy. | |

| Still off topic, my sister-in-law worked at Ted's Steak House, knew the cook too. When the kids would go to Grandma's house for the weekend, we would walk up there (at that time, we lived less than two blocks away) on Saturday nights and eat a damn fine steak and do some drinking. At some point in the evening, they would go pick up all the steak knives off the tables. I asked them why and they said because the drunks will be in here soon. | |

What have you been smoking? Nothing recently. I've heard several conservative commentators make predictions similar to my first sentence... but with a more conspiratorial tone, of course. The second part is all Bighead. I also predict massive inflation before a complete recovery... though I don't expect this until late 2009 at the earliest. I'll be putting some money in Swiss Franks.

Civil war would break out if it got that far, and it'd require military enforcement. Arms and especially bulk ammunition sales have skyrocketed in the last several months. And our military would split. Many in this nation are armed as well or better than their local police departments and not all leaders in the military would accept an order to disarm the public much less kill them. They might have reluctantly followed those kind of orders from the republicans that the military has come to see as their friends, but not from a black socialist democrat with lots of anti-American friends.

They won't even attempt to take down heavily armed citizens with small local PD. Besides, things will have to change alot before that kind of event happens here. Unlike Britain the US has Constitutional protections that have to be gotten past first and I think anarchy would spread fast if they try to take the 2nd clear out of the Bill of Rights.
