| Just a reminder too--- The Barnstorming Tour is coming up on April 20th. For those of you who don't know what it is- I will do my best! Area all-star basketball players are given the chance to (more or less) scrimmage against the senior basketball players from KU. You can go early and get autographs (be prepared for a LONG LONG line!) and watch the boys play. The KU players make it fun to watch and give the all stars a chance to show off a bit too. Tickets are $10 and you can get them at Dillons (thats where we got ours.) There might be other places I'm not sure! | |

| KSN (NBC) just had an announcement scroll across the bottom of the screen. KU is having a press conference about the basketball program at 4:30. Will Self stay or go? | |

| He's expected (I don't know by who exactly) to decline the OSU offer. I keep asking the hubby what he thinks and all he'll say is "He's expected to decline it, he'll take the call, but he'll turn them down" Guess we'll see. I hope he stays. I've grown rather fond of the guy- and he always has on a great tie! I just checked KU sports... Earlier today he told the Lawrence Journal World that he's staying- details at 4:30.

| LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ In possibly the biggest celebration in Lawrence history, a crowd estimated at more than 100,000 lined today to honor the Kansas Jayhawks.
Fans stood ten deep, or climbed trees and on rooftops to see coach Bill Self, Mario Chalmers and the rest of the team that beat Memphis 75-68 to win the NCAA championship.
Fans implored Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur, who both may enter the NBA draft, to stay one more year as their cars passed by.
Behind the school's band and cheerleaders, Russell Robinson, the Jayhawks' senior leader, rode in the parade's last car and held the championship trophy for everyone to see.
After the parade, fans gathered in Allen Fieldhouse for an awards ceremony that capped off one of the greatest seasons in school history. | |

| I was stationed at Ft. Riley in 1988 when they won the last one, we drove to Lawrence for the "festivities." You would not think that Lawrence Kansas could turn out so many people. It was impressive, and, hey, they did'nt riot, or burn anything down or loot the local stores. | |

| So they had a book signing by Mario Chalmers from 11 till 2 on Saturday at Kansas Sampler on 21st St. We drove by at about 10:30 and the line was already around the building on both sides, going behind Sonic to the west and behind the car dealer to the east. And it was already over 90 degrees outside. Unbelievable! | |
