The Hays Daily launched a new forum today.
Of the 16 users, 9 have posted. Of those 9, 7 are admin.
There is a topic posted by Hammerhead asking what happened to 67601. Should I post a link to this site?

They now have 19 members. 5 are new members as of today.
The general public did not have access to this prior to today. 14 members are HDN staff.

moderators have to "approve" you on their forum... how "clubby"... i do so hope i make the cut.

The number of guests on that site doubled. Was it a coincidental group of lurkers? Or did someone wake up the admins (all 14?)

I never thought I'd think this, but I miss bidhead's posts. They were always thought provoking, even though I didn't agree with a lot of what he said. Maybe he'll be curious enough to look at HDN for info.

We have to remember, our site has only been up for a few days. We have an outstanding number of members considering the way the word has gotten around. We will have all the other members soon enough, I'm sure.

A large part of what I enjoyed about the old site was the variety of posters and opinions. It doesn't matter to me whether I agree or not. I appreciate diversity.

My sixth grade teacher always said: "Wouldn't it be a boring place if we were all alike!"

after looking around at their new forum, it does not seem user friendly to me at all. Am I the only one noticing this?

I signed up so I could see the userlist, got a confirmation email, but still can't log in. That was a few hours ago.

I think we have all contacted all the users we can for right now, haven't we? If anyone knows how to get ahold of any of the other members, please feel free to do so. We have the door open to ALL!

Yep, even got the 2nd email confirming that. When I click "login", it takes me to a page that tells me to log in, but gives me no way TO log in...

At the very top of their home page is where I found it.

Eh, it doesn't show on my screen. I've got a wide screen and don't want to change the settings just to log into a site I likely won't use, anyway.

Mine is a wide screen, too. It is above the sunflowers. But from what I've seen,

I figured it was up there, but the top of the page, on my computer, is the top of the sunflowers.

Oh well.

Well IMO, if Hammerhead is signed on there, the place smacks of the good ol boys club; Remember, it was he who infiltrated the 67601 site to sway opinions of the previous city elections with the spread of last minute anti union propaganda.

Note: this is fact, not slander. The editor is going to have full control of their forum. The editor is on certain community boards and communicates with many community "leaders".

IMO, there are many "leaders" in this town with highly questionable ethics.

IMO, I believe Michael was coerced out with threats by many "influencial" community people.

I've noticed they've already put the address of this site on their forum. So there will be many of the previous lurkers jumping on here. Plus certain folks would love to bait you onto their forum to ID you via your Email address. I believe they would love to have your name to connect a few dots.
