Severe Weather today

Its that time of the year in Kansas when we can expect severe weather at anytime. Hey Wilky its been a few years since Hays has seen hail that big. Hays is due for another hailstorm like that.

What's the difference between a severe thunderstorm watch vs. warning???we have a watch now and the sky is gettin' creepy to the south Better get out my"I'm not from here,I'm a weather wuss"weather radio

a watch mean that conditions are favorable for severe weather. a warning means it is happening and to prepare yourself accordingly

I love tornado weather and always got excited-till last year-I got scared and cried

from the look of things, it is all south and east of us and it's sliding along to the northeast. I would be surprised if we see any weather here

I am all ready for some tornado chasing, got the gas tank topped off, video cameras and still cameras ready. Now I just need a storm to pop up and make things happen

Don't worry. We'll get something hot eventually. I've been in hail as big, or bigger than that picture a couple times. Both times I was in my vehicle. Once was the big tornado that went from Ness clear through Smith County and hit homes South of Ellis. There was softball sized hail in that. I saw hail that big hit in the field just in front of me, but I got mostly hit with golf ball and tennis ball size. In another storm I was watching come into Ellis there was alot of 2-3" hail.

Looks like you have a second shot at getting wet. Be patient Luke. You'll get some sooner or later. Dry spells don't last forever.
