TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC FORUM. This forum was made to allow the group of people that frequented the original 67601.com website to keep in touch. I am the sole owner/moderator of this forum. Therefore I make the rules. I have tried to keep things on an even keel, and tried to be fair to everyone. I even went as far as to ban my own brother for problems. I have unbanned mikecc, and he has chosen to not come back.

Slider if you don't like it here and don't like the way you are treated, DON'T COME BACK. How hard is that to understand? If I chose to ban you and not Ratzilla, that is MY choice. Ratz is a lifetime friend of mine. Does he get preferential treatment over you? Maybe. Is it fair to you? Probably not. Do I care? No.

I hope this clears a few things up.

I don't expect preferential treatment and you have told me if you thought I was pushing it too far. I don't hold back with slider because he'd act just as stupid if I try to be nice.

And just for your info slider, she did threaten to suspend me once for arguing with either you or mikecc, can't recall which now. You claim to be so intelligent so why don't you show it. Discuss a matter without insulting everyone you post to and you might be surprised how nice we treat you.

Will we always agree? Of course not, but if you'd search back through the months of posts you'd find the guy you hate the most has agreed with some of your political opinions more than most. But you never seem to notice when I take your side.

Personally, I think that you all do a great job moderating the forum. I know I haven't posted much lately, but my life has been unusually chaotic lately. I still check in regularly and post when I feel the need. And for what it is worth I can completely see why slider would be banned (temporarily or not) and ratz would not. I have been around since the old site and for the most part Ratz has been respectful of most of the members of this forum, while slider does not hesitate to attack.

Nice to see I get some support. I know I can be abrasive, or at least it may seem that way since I tend to say what I think rather than just saying what I don't think will hurt feelings. I always figured you'll hurt more feelings in the long term if you don't put your real thoughts up front.

My hypochondriac sister is a perfect example. Most of the family just ignores her which causes her to get sicker in an attempt to get their attention. I always tell her she just needs to get away from doctors and stop reading too much into symptoms but since no one else tells her that she thinks I'm just teasing her.

She has no clue the family avoids her because of her constant imagined illness, so she keeps inventing new ones hoping they will pay attention. It's a sad cycle that could be stopped if everyone she knew just looked her in the face like I do and told her a good physically active job and an enema is all she needs.

This really shouldn't even be called a forum. You should have just started a Yahoo group, if you actually wanted it just to "keep in touch." Forum implies discussion and lively debate. This "thing" is more of a bashing place for those unlucky enough not to believe every word that the rabidly conservative pundits spout. Long ago, it actually used to be a place where you could get some relevant local news, maybe a bit of good natured debate and do some visiting. However, now.... just sheer hatefulness if you don't toe the line that the administrator and her little Nazi buddies have set. It's a waste of space and you are pretty much all a waste of air if you're perpetuating this. I've learned a lot about my fellow Kansans on this place... mainly, that most of you are ignorant, misogynistic, intolerant, racist jerks for whom the concept of kindness is completely foreign.... unless, of course, you can get something out of it. It's very sad.

Wow.That's one of the ugliest things I have ever actually read on here,and if I remember right,most of the things you've always posted on here read as if you are an old,bitter woman.That's very sad.

If this is such a hateful place,Why do you return on a continual basis?

I still come here because there are some fun things at times, there is local news at times and when the drama starts up I usually ignore it. I do notice that there gets to be a lot of bashing back and forth on both sides of an issue. It does occur that someone will get mad in a debate and start the name calling etc if the other side refuses to agree and things usually go downhill from there. I don't see a need to call people names in a debate, it is usually just for a shock value and it really doesn't do anything to make a debate meaningful.
When I see term like "faux news , nazis, facists, parrots, " etc, I usually lose interest because then it is just degrading into a slugfest of insults, which doesn't do anyone any good.

I have known rat for a long long time and tho I don't agree with him all the time and we have our own personal debates, we still respect each other at the end of the day. He is the type of person that would risk his neck to save someone else, he also will go out of his way to help someone out. But I also know he isn't one to be pushed around and bullied by someone and when the situation requires it, he will step up to defend himself and his position. He will mirror back to you the way you are treating him. And if that bothers you, then maybe you should change the way you are projecting out to others. In other words, if ya can't take it, don't dish it out.

I have very little respect for somone that can only call others names and use put downs in an effort to make themselves seem superior, so, I guess if the shoe fits, wear it. A legitimate debate will stay on the facts, namecalling and putdowns are not part of a proper debate. I think the Bill Shanahan incident is great evidence of that.

Oh my it kind sounds like the same things I have been told my some people here in Johnson County. The people here think that Western Kansas people are racists.

It's funny tho how the people in Johnson county don't have a problem taking the tax dollars that western kansas generate to go to fund the schools there. Hell, there are counties out here that want to form their own state over that issue.

Celtic, I actually laughed out loud while reading that. This just goes to show that you have no idea who I am as a person. I am a very caring and loving person. I do not get involved with the heated discussions and bash fests. I just try to police the site to keep the bashing to a minimum. I have enough going on in my life right now, raising my 3 beautiful children - running my family business - and living my life the best way I can. I can't speak for other people on the board. I don't appreciate your comments. Just like I told slider - If you don't like it here, why do you insist on coming back? No one forces this forum on you. It takes your own willpower to click the links to get here. You dog this place, yet you keep on reading. It honestly doesn't make sense to me. It seems to me that you are the one that is "sad".

Celtic, you are what is often referred to, and quite accurately, as a bleeding heart liberal. You want this perfect happy world for those you consider deserving. The rest of us are just evil because we don't share your opinions, or desire for an ultra-liberal utopian world.

When you first came here and supported the Wiccans I thought you might be someone with an open mind. But ever since then anyone who has said anything even remotely against far leftist ideals is labeled by you as mean, racist, evil, or crazy. Hey Luke, nice of you to say that. I prefer a good logical debate without insults and profanities myself. But when I get a jackass coming into it I don't mind tormenting them awhile.

I suspect I missed something and Im pretty much glad I did. Ive never had an issue with Ratz myself even though I dont always agree with him. I havent always gotten along with everyone but no one has made me want to punt this board besides slider and mike. Their posts were just full of venom and spite and that gets old after a long day at work.

I think this place is good if somewhat dead these days. What I do miss is the large amount of local news etc that could once be found here. New places going in, stuff at the schools, things along those lines.

I think Jamie has done the best she could given the circumstances and shes had a whole lot more patience with those 2 jokers than I would have.

Well L2C it's like I said to cobra kel, why don't more of you post topics? Those of us who do right now tend to focus alot on politics, social issues, or sports. Every member to this forum has the same right to post the topics they want to discuss, and with over 340 registered members there should be more than just 5 to 10 of us picking the topics.

On the rare occasions that I find out any local news I usually do post a topic. Unfortunately Im out of the loop alot of the time. And I dont post political topics because I live with someone who freaking watches FOX News almost 24-7 and I get enough of that shit at home.

Like I say, anyone can post a topic. We've been posting new topics but still it seems the same posters are all who are joining in. Maybe it sounds mean, but from looking at posts on facebook it seems like many want message boards for nothing more than a back patting club to give each other assurance that "You are good. Life is good. We will survive if we keep patting each others backs and giving comfort".

My apologies to those who don't understand, but I view life as a private battle that only gives me outside support when I'm very lucky. I rarely ask for it. I sense that many who quit posting wanted this place to be that way, but there can be a great many things come from a forum like this besides all the touchy feely stuff.

And I'm not knocking those who need that emotional lift from others. Do whatever you all like. But I'd appreciate if everyone who thinks some of us are cold and lacking in understanding just reflect a little deeper and try to understand themselves.

Internet forums are a reflection of society and should be seen that way. I think we all want a decent forum, but I also don't think we all need to start singing the Barney the Dinosaur song.

Those who can only post crap and hatred really need to get a life, and the same goes for those who think life is supposed to be some fairytale sugar and sweetness bullshit.

after donating FREE music for 3 years at an approximate cost of $1670 annually, I completely agree with Jamie. I think this site is operated very well. I and Cobra Kel and others have talked and agree. The simplest rule is if you don't have anything to say, then say nothing. I am very thankful for the advertising, and completely enjoy the fact that many of you tune in occasionally. Thank you Jamie and staff of 67601.

I'd also like to suggest again, that those who don't see what they want to see here start some new topics. It really doesn't make sense to get mad at what's posted if you don't offer any alternatives.
