| Lockhart Geophysical Company is privately owned.
Lockhart Geophysical Company was established in 1977, then consisting of a small 60 channel very dedicated crew, and four vibrators. In response to demand for its services, Lockhart Geophysical purchased equipment in 1981 to furnish a second data acquisition crew, tremendously increasing its capabilities. The 1986 drop in oil prices caused drastic change in the economics for exploration companies. In response, Lockhart Geophysical made two major decisions. First, it upgraded to 120 Channel DFS-V with Input/Output Correlator Stacker and associated equipment. Second, it cut costs by dropping back to one very strong crew in terms of equipment as well as very experienced and dedicated personnel. These decisions allowed Lockhart Geophysical to survive in a weak economic market, yet meet the requirements of its clients. From this strong base, when the demand for increased activity developed, the company was easily able to expand to a third field crew. Technical advances in equipment and data processing applications have substantially increased the applicability and usefulness of 3-D seismic data for the development, production and management of oil and gas reservoirs. Interpretation of structural features that might be misinterpreted using 2-D seismic data can be significantly enhanced using 3-D seismic data. Thus in addition to reducing dry-hole risks, the use of 3-D seismic can enhance production by enabling companies to drill fewer, more strategically placed wells in existing reservoirs. Increasing pressure on oil and gas companies to reduce risks associated with exploration and production has led to increased use of 3-D seismic data within the oil and gas industry.
Corporate Headquarters is located in Denver, Colorado. Crew locations are totally dependent on client needs. The Lockhart Geophysical area of operation include, but is not limited to, the western and mid-continent states. http://www.lockhartgeo.com/about/about.htmwith that kind of knowledge not much need for outside investors to help absorb risk. guess the oil companies will get to keep all but the landowners share. | |
