| Interesting goings on... read all about it...excerpt: Michelle Rice handled duties of a TCF officer for more than a year before she was stopped cold April 2, 2008. The impediment was a new, unpublished rule regarding security checks of staff members at the front gate. It purportedly covered all guards, but implementation had special meaning to female staff members. Rice suddenly came to realize wearing a bra with an underwire support — just as she had since being hired at TCF — now was considered a breach of security by Koerner.

| Well the way I understand the law, if this is the whole story, then the plaintiffs may not have much of a case.
It's true that harassment laws rely solely on PERCEPTION, not intent. In effect, if the plaintiffs believe that the comment(s) or action(s) in question were made with racially, sexually, or otherwise discriminatory intent- then the comment(s) or action(s) WERE made with said intent as far as the law in concerned. Not saying it's right... only that that's how the law is written.
The big however is that the employee must go to a supervisor an request that the harassment be stopped. They have a case ONLY if the harassment continues.
A co-worker asked me about this the other day, and I gave him much the same legal advice. Then I went on to suggest how he might manipulate the boss into continuing the harassment, and how one could go about building and documenting a case. It's gonna be some funny shit...

Goes right along with the corrupt city government.

| I've got a sister-in-law taking a criminal justice course at Wichita State. In October, a group of them took a tour of the Topeka facility. During that tour, whoever was leading it told them that they have almost no problem with funneling of contraband because there are virtually no drug problems.
This is another article I'll forward to her to share, since the Eagle apparently doesn't print them.

And what makes you think that Sebelius and/or Parkinson would allow any faith-based organizations to be funded? That aside, it's really disgusting that our tax money is paying these demented beings. It's also ironic that Margie has input on whether inmates are released from prison or sent back to be subjected to further potential sodomizing.

This does... How Can the Kansas Office for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Help Me? The Kansas Office for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives provides information, education and referral resources to accomplish the following: • Help faith-based and community organizations learn how state agencies operate, how to apply for grants, who to go to for information and how to clear away barriers; • Coordinate efforts to eliminate regulatory, contracting, and other programmatic obstacles to the participation of faith-based and other community organizations in the provision of workforce development services; • Convene statewide activities to engage key stakeholders in conversations on services provided by faith-based and community organizations; • Propose the development of innovative pilot and demonstration programs to increase the participation of faith-based and other community organizations in State and local initiatives; • Encourage Local Workforce Investment Boards (LWIBs) established under the Workforce Investment Act to appoint members who are familiar with local faith-based and community organizations; • Work with LWIBs to educate faith-based and community organizations about partnership possibilities and funding opportunities; and • Develop and coordinate agency outreach efforts to disseminate information more effectively to faith-based and other community organizations with respect to programming changes, contracting opportunities and other agency initiatives. http://kdoch.state.ks.us/KDOCHdocs/BD/faith_X.doc

http://kdoch.state.ks.us/KDOCHdocs/BD/faith_X.doc All of that is about getting federal money for people/organizations within the state, which props up the economy and helps the politicians get re-elected. The only faith involved is their faith in the almighty dollar, which at this point appears to be unfounded.
