| I think it's great how it's suddenly become fashionable amongst ya'll 'conservatives' to distrust and bitch about the gov't. No argument here.
Thing is, I KNOW from experience that ya'll will promptly change your tune and blindly support whatever stupid shit the gov't undertakes as soon as Jeb Bush takes office in 2016.
This really isn't about the government. It certainly isn't about principle. It ain't even about policy- you're just whining because YOUR GUY isn't in charge.

| Jeb Bush? Man if both the leftists and right wingers can't realize by now that a Ron Paul type is what we need then maybe the world should explode in 2012. | |

I've stayed somewhat quiet on this topic, but I have something to say. I never believed that McCain/ Palin ticket would fix America's problems, but I sure the heck knew that Obama was exactly what America didn't need. My complaint certainly isn't in regards to which party took office. Its about the damage that is being done, and the long standing effects of what is taking place. Obama certainly did not have an easy task set before him. Many MANY politicians (from both parties) before him contributed to making the mess. Plain and simple, though he's making things worse instead of better.

Obama certainly did not have an easy task set before him. Many MANY politicians (from both parties) before him contributed to making the mess. Plain and simple, though he's making things worse instead of better. I don't necessarily disagree with you. I have my doubts about several of his priorities- the biggest among them being Cap & Trade and 'healthcare reform'. My point is that Conservatives don't really have a problem with massive expansions of goverment, record deficits, unconstitutional laws and actions, etc... so long as it's THEIR GUY doing it. Conservatives had NO objection to what will amount to TRILLIONS of dollars spent on a completely unnecessary war (Iraq), nor record budget deficits under Bush. But now OMFG Obama is going to spend us into poverty. Might be true... but I can't take it seriously coming from these folks. They weren't concerned that resources and attention were unnecessarily diverted from Afghanistan- and are now trying desperately to blame Obama for any problems there. He isn't sending tens of thousands more 'troops' at a moment's notice!!! Nevermind that the entire Afghanistan project was put on the back burner for YEARS in favor of Iraq. Nope... it's all Obama's fault. Conservatives have damn near declared a Jihad against Obama's healthcare plans... but barely even grumbled when Bush signed the largest expansion of ANY government entitlement program since the 'Great Society' (talking about Medicare prescription coverage here). There was some whining when BUSH came out with the TARP program (and for good reason), but it's funny to me how conservatives now blame Obama for THAT program... conveniently forgetting that it was started by a Republican administration and supported by McCain. Never heard a peep when Bush kissed a Saudi prince on the lips... but now the world is gonna end because Obama bowed. One would think that conservatives had NO CONCEPT of precedent and potential abuse of government power back when they passed the Patriot Act... remember how those evil Libruls railed against the goverment suspending habeas corpus, etc... and how this will eventually be used against US?? Just two days ago I listened to Limbaugh rail against trying some accused terrorists in New York (you know- the same way that the so-called '20th hijacker', Mussaoui, was tried in New York during the previous administration), claiming that this will set precedents allowing the gov't to deny you Miranda and habeas corpus protections. Jesus Fuckingg Christ! Makes my massive head spin just trying to wrap my little mind around the tribal mentality required to suspend or engage one's critical thinking skills at will. So you see, it isn't about what Obama DOES. It's about who is IS. He could (and does more often than I'd prefer) take exactly the same actions and make exactly the same decisions as Bush or McCain did or would have... and conservatives would (and will and do) STILL bitch and raise holy hell.

Some of them are probably still in therapy over it though. He kissed a Muslim, and it was a man. But that kissing guys thing kinda turns my gut too. In all fairness I bet all the jewish folk inhabiting Congress (Who are pretty much all democrats) did a big Oye Vey over that incident too.

| Bighead, You're the cheesiest You missed the one and only true difference between the two party system: The conservatives prefer blind and blunt executive action with no regard to the long term cost/benefit stucture while the liberals prefer to slowly drown on their own shit before attempting to think about discussing a vote to open a vote on the issue at hand after the 24 hour news cycle has chewed it to death (in both directions but let's face it, assholes scream louder) over a months long period. Other than that, you pretty much nailed it. | |

After Triple B's comment I just keep thinking how funny it'd be if Bigheads name is Dick. Yeah I know, weird thoughts pop into my head. But trying to think sanely drives me nuts.

Richard Cranium Actually, my name is Dick Armey... which happens to be the manliest possible name (within the English language). And I reckon that's appropriate for a diesel mechanic- which just happens to be the manliest JOB possible (within the private sector).

This guy has got to be a lot more manly than anyone else on earth to have the self control not to deck Barney.

Who's to say that he doesn't like it? It isn't THAT uncommon. You seem to have a bit of a 'Barney' fixation lately- why is that? If you dressed up in a big purple dinosaur outfit, would you qualify as a 'furry'? Or do 'furries' have to be based on mammals?

| It was my first mechanic job. Linda was the only female mechanic at that shop, and she taught me to change the oil in a truck. She was quite good at servicing. She took her sweet time. And yes, she was popular. To this day I change oil like a girl. |
