Okay, Bignose, bobby, rog and company. Here's your chance to tell the world.

| I went for Kentucky Gentleman. I'd also go some Pete's Wicked Ale or some Fat Tire Ale... but those weren't on the list.
What is it with Haycites and LIGHT beer? Everybody I ever met in Hays drank Keystone light, Bud Light, Natty Light, etc. If I'm gonna drink beer, I want something with some taste and some calories.

| I don't watch Olberman. Didn't vote for BO. And Sierra Nevada Torpedo Ale, Hog Heaven Barleywine, and Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner aren't on the list either.
I have had all those except Zima though. WTF is Zima?

Don't know if they even still make it. It was a Coors product that was a favorite among guys who play for the pink team. Apparently they liked to flavor it with Jolly Ranchers. But it would foam up and they'd have to put their mouth over the bottle to keep it from making a mess. Can't imagine what it reminded them of.

I was also Ron Paul fan in the primaries, but ended up voting for the lesser evil of Obama. And so far I'm pretty satisfied that I made the right choice.

And the Dems in Congress would be keeping her from doing anything so they could run on a "she did nothing" platform in 2012. But at least neither side would be screwing us.

I don't think so, you old codger. The bullshit two-party system is just too ingrained into our society, especially with the huge sums of money on both sides. It's just too powerful. I wish you were right, but for a third party candidate to win would take an enormous amount of money, and especially . . an idea whose time has come. It'd be a hoot, for sure. But I doubt it will occur in our lifetime.

Problem is that Ron Paul isn't what most Republicans want. He doesn't want to go to war with half the world. And he doesn't worship the police or military. All that is totally at odds with the modern-day platform of our Fascist Party. - Degeneration X wrote:

I expect that he'll be elected soon enough. Maybe Bush/Palin 2016. I mean, ya'll don't REALLY think that the Republicans will run Palin at the top of their ticket, do you? They may be crazy. They may be stupid. But they ain't unpredictable. - The Other One wrote:

I sincerely hope that we'll see gridlock again soon. But I will NEVER again vote for a fascist in the executive branch. They're ok in the legislative branch, and I'd like to see them make some progress there. But in the executive branch, our Fascist Party's platform amounts to perpetual war, an ever-encroaching police state, and mixing government with religion and business at every opportunity. I much prefer the Socialists in the executive branch.

| The liberals have their own form of police state. Only they disguise it in the form of taking away things under the claim of protecting us. | |

| That's true enough. But IMO, the conservatives are far worse. Look at their War on Drugs- conceived and pushed largely by conservatives, though far too many libs have reluctantly gone along with it. IMO, drug prohibition has been the SINGLE most destructive government policy in the past half century when it comes to civil liberties- or constitutional rights as ya'll conservatives prefer to call them. There's no greater contributor to our current police state than these drug laws.
Also, within the judicial branch, libs are far more likely to side with individual rights as opposed to police powers. Conservatives have never met a police power that they didn't support... UNTIL it's used against them or their pet causes.
I mean, look at Scalia's opinions over the years. Among other things, he signed onto the majority opinion that you have NO right to remain silent until AFTER you've been arrested. He also wrote a dissent AGAINST the 13-year-old girl who was strip searched at school over allegations that she might have some ibuprophen. Ffucking brilliant.

| You know, EP- I just watched Olberman a little while ago. Hadn't watched him in months. You should give it a try... you might learn a thing or two. I mean hell, I listen to Rush pretty regularly. Listened to him today in fact. It won't hurt you to give Olberman a try. | |

| I agree 100% on the drug war comments and have said the same myself many times. We were discussing national debt, and since the drug wars really got going strong in the early 60's there have been over a trillion dollars spent on it.
Just like alcohol prohibition, drug prohibition has created more criminals, and more violent ones. Up until the Pure Food And Drug Act of 1906 there were no laws against any drug being sold in over the counter medicines yet drug abuse was less of a problem then, largely because there was no criminal element.
As you may recall Bighead, I am no conservative poster boy either. I try to see the world from a point of logical thought rather than political, religious, or other social club views.
The biggest difference between a conservative and a liberal is the conservative will try to beat you into submission, the liberal will try to get you to think putting on a shock collar and calling him massa is what you really want to do.
