Senator Hatch tried to demonstrate that one part of Professor Hill's testimony might have been concocted by suggesting that her allegation that Judge Thomas spoke to her of a pornographic film with a character called "Long Dong Silver" might have been lifted from a 1988 Federal court case on sexual harassment. In that case, another black woman complained that she had been subjected to conversations involving that character.
