Did anyone else see this in the Hays Daily today? What are your thoughts on this?

It's an advertisement from the World Reserve Monetary Exchange, Inc. You get the safe, an American Eagle 1-ounce silver bullion coin made from solid .999 fine silver, 250 new 2005 US Buffalo Nickels in sealed rolls, a banker's stack of historic $2 bills and a full vault tube of Presidential Golden Dollar Coins. This is never circulated money. It's for $298 or $149 in two payments.

Those "instant collectors items" are a crap shoot. They never guarantee a profit to anyone but the sellers. Avon used to push it's collectable figurine bottles but now they sell for a dollar a box at auctions. You should buy gold and silver when the market is down bad, never when it's high. And those presidential gold coins are just gold plated at best. 50 years from now $250 in 2005 buffalo nickels will probably be worth $250.

The first state proof grade coins minted in silver have gone way up in value, but those are the exception. Might be a future for this vault, but there are better investments in coins.

And $250 in today's money will be about fifty cents.

Yeah, that too. Hopefully not quite that bad, but 50 years ago $250 would have bought a decent used car. I'd say buy gold, silver, and real estate when at rock bottom low and wait for the highs. And now ain't the time for buyers.
