Middle School Fun Night - Hays Recreation Center - 1105 Canterbury - 7-10 pm - 785-623-2650 - $3 Entry Fee - Join us for a fun night of activities: refreshments available for purchase, tennis shoes must be worn, & please leave your hats at home! Parents please drop off & pick up your children in the back parking lot. Volunteers always needed to chaperone, so contact the HRC. If a child wants to leave before 9:45 pm a parent must enter the building to pick them up.

FHSU Jazz Ensemble Concert – Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center - 600 Park - 8 pm - 785-628-4533 - Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Ensemble II will present a jazz concert featuring big band jazz music from a wide variety of composers. Both groups are made up of FHSU students.

Walk Away 5K - The Center for Health Improvement - 2500 Canterbury Dr - 7:30-10 am - The run/walk is raising awareness and encouraging people to "walk away" from violent situations. In order to obtain more information and to register individually or as a team, please contact Amanda at 785-628-5215 or email
walkaway5k@gmail.com. Registration will begin at 7:30 am at The Center for Health Improvement. Registration is $16 for individuals and $14 per member of a team of four or more if postmarked by Tuesday, April 8th. Day of event registration prices are $20 for individuals and $18 per member of a team of four or more. Registration forms an be sent to Amanda Montgomery, McMindes Hall, 600 Park St, Hays, KS 67601. (Sending these forms via FHSU campus mail will not require postage.) Each participant will receive a t-shirt and a free brunch after the run/walk.
All proceeds from this fun run/walk 5K will benefit the Northwest Kansas Domestic & Sexual Violence Services, Inc. (NKDSVS) through First Call for Help. The Kansas Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA) middle-school students involved in the Hidden Heroes project as well as a FHSU Leadership 310 Team are collaborating to aid victims of domestic and sexual violence in finding safe living conditions.

Family Fun Fest at The Mall - 2918 Vine – 1-4 pm - 785-623-2440 - This is a time for families to come out and have fun with FREE children's activities, games, educational programs and information for parents to help kick off the week of the young child. Children ages 2-3 months and up to age 12 will enjoy playing and participating in the various events scheduled throughout the afternoon. Each booth is sponsored by local organizations from around the community. This event is sponsored by the HICC Education Committee.
