Anybody know of any Prairie dog towns within 200miles?

I am on a list at the KS fish and game for prairie dog hunting places. I only know of a few and wondered if anyone here might know of places to hunt.

Only one I know is up around Natoma.

Some guys I work with like to sniper P-dogs, but I'd have to ask where.

Have guys from Kentucky looking for a place closer than Valentine Nebraska...and the indian Res makes you buy passes now plus a guide.

Any solid info would be of great help.

Have you looked around Goodland?

I know of 1 near Hoisington,but the land owner won't let any one on the property because of destructive sloppy assholes.

I told my ex to quit prairie dogging it and that's why those sloppy assholes aren't allowed.

Blackie, do you have the farmers name near Hoisington? I would like to talk to him. I think arrangements could be made.

Justoo, that prairie dog attraction near I-70 is for sale there is a post on line about it. The other places have been hunted hard and many have gassed their dogs.

I know of a patch/town North of Plainville and one North of damar on the blacktop.

I have had so many calls that I am trying to work something up. I have nothing else to do because of health.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I will bird dog this Hoisington Dog town I had heard of it 2 years ago.

That concrete dog would "easy" go 1600lbs. Hell, ...I weigh 460

I am not originally from Kansas so I have a question about this topic. Why would you hunt prairie dogs? Do you eat them or is it just for sport?

I am from Kansas, Lisa, and I don't get it, either. Surely there's not enough meat on them for a meal, or enough pelt for any possible use (what would you use it for, anyway?). confused

Maybe it's just target practice.

it makes a good stew if they have grazed on grass and wheat. Suzy, the dogs we ended up gassing ate as much grass as 130 head of cattle. I love the black tail prairie dog. Please look for "the hunters creed" online.

I have remorse for every animal I have killed. These prairie dogs are hunted for sport. Like any "hunting season" you must control the harvest so the speices does not disappear.

Take some, leave some, and there will always be some.

I sure need addresses and names of any dog towns....compiling a map and will charge for each copy the keep money in fund to but Prariedog town at Oakly...or something West.

The guys I know just do it because they get off on watching small animals become a splash of blood and guts in their scope. Personally I think it'd be better sport to put me and some mouthy gang punk at opposite ends of a football field and see if he could "bust a cap in my ass" before I popped his head like a ripe melon with a cross cut hollowpoint 8MM Mauser round, but I guess I'm not a sportsman.

My opinions aside, the dogs tear up farm ground and attract rattlesnakes.
