| Do any of you have information on where online to go, to decipher the maker's mark on China, or Japanese porcelain? | |

| There's only one kind of maker's mark that people around here are gonna be familiar with. And it goes well with 7-up. | |

Boo, booze cutter! I must admit though I am a scotch man and I do regularly drink a roughly 5:1 scotch to water ratio.

| Are the marks strictly Japanese/Chinese characters, or is there English printing? | |

| I like coffee in my coffee. Nothing else. I rarely drink whiskey or other hard alcohol nowdays, but I always preferred a bourbon shot with a beer chaser. If I drank coffee with alcohol it was the same. Shot first then a drink of coffee as a chaser. | |

Not sure. I've got a set of china I got from my mother, that she got from hers. It's a pretty common pattern, I think. Most of the pieces just have the mark on the bottom. A few pieces that have the same pattern painted on them, do not have the same handle on the little cups. Those with different handles have a mark, with Japan stamped under the mark. Most of them just have intersecting, curved arrows with nothing else. No Kanji, or other symbols. It's not a big deal. I've been curious about the set since I was a wee one.

| Try out at Hastings the book store. There have books with the makers marks in them. You can sit down there and look though them. | |

Oh no, not the Phelps neighborhood? A couple photos would help suzy. There are a ton of Japanese porcelain marks. And are you positive it's all Japan?

| There is a curved arrow mark from Germany. The most commonly seen Japan here are marked with either plain "Japan" or "Occupied Japan", or various Nippon marks. Link to a photo of the German one here.. http://www.tias.com/516/PictPage/1920602745.html | |

Now this is no rain on your wedding day, but I do think it fits the definition of irony. Absolutely. I was actually more making fun of myself with even more poor grammar and spelling for the obvious mistake. Trust me I'm not above being ridiculed but I'm still fucking awesome.

| Hmm. I can't find any other pieces on the web, so far. I don't have a complete set. I might want to add to it, if I can find the same pattern and mark. I'll keep looking, though.
Thanks, again, Ratz. You're my hero!
