| While watching the UFO chasers on the History Channel, I did a web search and ran across this site with reports of sightings. I thought it was interesting and maybe you will, maybe you won't but anyway....... Kansas UFO reports | |

| I've seen a couple things I couldn't ID. One I passed off as an optical illusion, the other I have no explanation for. It didn't look like a helicoptor and moved in too many different directions and speeds for a plane, and it's numerous sudden stops and perfect turns were too complex for a plane or balloon.
No idea what it was, but it made no sound that I could hear. It just looked like a very large reddish orange light, but the moves it was making seemed to be like it was following a purposeful geometric pattern. I would guess it was about 5 miles southwest of town and hung around the area for about 5 minutes before finally just flying south into a cloud bank. Never did see it again. I suppose a large balloon is a possibility but it moved up, down, left, right and in perfect straight lines sometimes coming to a complete stop and then reversing direction going back where it started. Never saw a balloon move so geometrically perfect.

| There are strange things out there that cannot be explained. The sightings seem to be occurring more frequently than in years past-as do the abduction reports. I used to think it was all a bunch of crap until I saw one for myself and it was scary and exciting at the same time. It wasn't a helicoptor, a prop plane, a jet, or a balloon. It wasn't a flock of birds, a series of oddly shaped clouds, or a "shooting star". It was a nuts and bolts craft that was totally quiet, moved in ways that no other aircraft I've ever seen moved, and was as real as the car I was setting in when I observed it. I hope thay are friendly because if they ever decide to get mean or take this planet away from us--they will. | |

And it went from zero to out of sight faster than anything man made. Noiselessly.

| The oddest one I watched was reddish orange. It didn't strike me like a balloon because it made only angular movements and lots of them. Picture something traveling as if trying to draw a 5 point star, triangles, or other geometric patterns in the sky and that's how it moved. | |

My older sister and I saw something similar, flying in a triangular pattern, seemingly coming closer (getting larger in appearance), then backing away. We were in two different locations (in the same town) at the time and recounted to each other what we saw, as soon as we got home. That was about 25 years ago. I've seen many things since, but nothing quite as strange as that night.

| I still remember my close encounter between Great Bend and Rush Center when I seen that unexplained blue light streak right beside my vehicle. Then about a mile down the road I seen a car in the ditch so I figured it was due to that light being so close to the road. | |

Are you positive that one wasn't a speeding KHP trooper late for coffee break?

| Rat Z--The one I saw was silver colored-like the color of aluminum. I was southwest of Ellis near Round Mound and it came from the north, moving south. When I first saw it, it was going slow--then in only a second it covered a distance of about a half mile and stopped. It was about as high in the air as the top of a grain elevator. It didn't move for about a minute and I was halfway tempted to get closer to it to get a better look but I thought, "NO WAY!" That's about the time that it shot off to the south and was gone. I've never seen anything accelerate that fast. It was maybe a quarter mile away from me at its closest and it never made a sound. It looked to be maybe 70 feet across and 10 or 12 feet in height. I've told only a couple of people about it--When it happened I knew that I had seen something incredible; whether or not people believe me is no concern of mine. I know what I saw. That was 10 years ago and I haven't been back there since. | |

| Very interesting Serpico because the one I watched was in that same area. I was farther away and it could be that if it was shiny silver the evening sun may have just made it appear like an orange reddish light. What I watched was probably about 2 miles away so estimating size is difficult, but I'd guess about dump truck size. | |

| Rat Z-I bet it was bigger than a dump truck 'cuz a dump truck would look pretty small from 2 miles away. Who knows though----and maybe there's something in that part of the county that they're interested in. Where was the one you saw Justoo? | |

| I thought of that. Size is hard to guess at a distance. I might have to make some comparisons to give you a better idea. | |
