| I am going to call in the morning and ask, but I thought I might ask you fine people tonight so I can start thinking of ideas. Tomorrow is the folks anniversary. 43rd I think. Anyhoo, as you know Mom is still in the shop and hopefully will be out of ICU tomorrow. Both are "frazzled" by this ordeal and I want do do something special for them. Does HMC have people who can help me do something for them? Nothing fancy, maybe just a nice quiet dinner. Thanks, | |

| I believe that they can produce a steak dinner. I heard once that they do it for some new parents | |

| It's been awhile since my children were born there, but to celebrate the birth we received a nice candlelit dinner, so I bet they can help you out. | |

| We took what we wanted to into my mom, like pork chops swimmin in cholesterol, watermelon, canteloupe, KFC, etc. Take the folks something they'd like and screw the hospital staff if they don't like it. No, they won't let you take your dad a case of beer. But if you'd empty out a 2 liter bottle of 7-UP and refill it with his favorite suds...... | |

I'd rather have the fried chicken on the buffet at Meridy's. That's been on my mind lately.

I like to put about 3 sunny side up eggs on top a stack of pancakes well salted to counter the sweetness of the syryp. My dad taught me that so I wouldn't get overpowered by all that syrup and waste half the stack. Funny thread here with odd connections. Gone from old hens in a KFC bucket to syrup, then back to chicken eggs.

| Mom is still in ICU - will be for a few more days. They were able to go in this morning and drain the fluid sac that had formed on her right lung. They also went in to get some of the secretions and fluid out of her lungs, and decided to intubate her for awhile and put her on the ventilator just so she can get a little rest and get rid of some more fluid. They named all the antibiotics they have her on - and I only recognized two of the 5 or 6. The way I understand it some of them are experimental but at this point nothing else was working so why not?
She is trying to keep her spirits up but she is absolutely exhausted. She is sore for being bedridden for so long, and she just wants to see her grandkids.

| update - mom was back in Hoxie since Monday - but today she was flight for lifed to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. Her oxygen levels were low again and a blood test indicated markers for a pulmonary imbulism. Dad and Nitro are going to Wichita today. She made it there ok and is stable, but she is in the Medical ICU there. Keep her in your prayers. | |

| That hospital is awesome! The daughter's daughter was life watched there about 8 weeks ago. It was pretty scary, but she only spent a couple of hours in the emergency room here before she was life watched to Wichita. I was so glad she went there instead of donkey-ing around with these people around here! The nurses are so good and the daughter said that it was so clean, people were cleaning all the time. | |
