| To each their own, but snow and cold are things I don't miss in the least. Spent too many winters feeding cattle and working in the oil patch. If I want the winter experience it's just a couple hours away in the high country, but haven't felt the need so far. BUT speaking of snow birds THEIR BACK. It does make driving an experience, however the millions that they pump into the economy is never complained about. | |

Cold enough my bad ears are complaining to me. It's not that bad now, but I don't need more of it. Besides, I recall one time when one of our treasure hunts out west got cut short by snow and I don't think you were much happier to see it than I was.

| I thought it kinda sucked Luke. I was wanting to hunt more relics not drive home in a whiteout. Don't get me wrong, the snow we had the other day looked nice, melted off the roads ok and made my Christmas lights look extra nice. But alot of the same ones who want snow so bad will be cussing when it's freezing on the roads making them dangerous and the packed snow makes the streets like washboards, only to thaw and refreeze for a month causing something else that most of the present snow lovers will complain about. Spring potholes in the streets.
But if you can make it snow, and melt away in a day or two and keep the roads clear, I can handle that.

| Don't ever wish for snow if the winds are 40 to 50. That would indicate a mental disorder worthy of a stay at the laughing academy.
Between snow, a funeral, and this friggin wind, I havn't gotten many more lights up outside that I'd normally do over my long Thanksgiving weekend and the days off are over. GRRRRRR

| I'm letting water trickle NB. Up in the northern states trailer houses have a switch that sends the air from the heater ducts under the house. Is there a way you could run a pipe from the dryer exhaust under the house? A couple loads of laundry would put alot of warm air under there. | |

If it's gonna be this cold -DROP SOME PRETTY SNOW DAMMIT!! In the old days there were no pipes to freeze. I imagine they kept water barrels or crocks inside filled from wells or cisterns deep enough they didn't freeze. They also brought in snow and ice to melt for water if they had no well. And the old chamber pot kept you from getting icicle ass in the outhouse. I don't however see how anyone can stand Canada or similar climates where this is normal. I'm thinking of cutting a hole where I can run my dryer vent under the house in temps like these. They pump out alot of warm air.

Yeah, I found out how much when my stupid cat knocked the vent hose off this summer and it was blowing hot humid air in the house. If you gotta do laundry anyways it might be a good way to keep pipes thawed and heating bills down. Might make it pretty damp under the house though if used alot.

| Try this NB. Cover all your heater vents in the house and crank it up. That forces the heat out the cracks in the ductwork and may thaw you out. Old trailer trash trick I just remembered. | |
