Honestly... is anybody surprised by this? Anybody?
But I expect Republicans to seize on the description of Monegan's firing as "proper and lawful"... and spin furiously.

Not anymore than I would expect liberals to spin it to the left. Once again, it is another nugget that has no meaning to the actual viable concerns of Americans who may be wondering where their next paycheck may come from.

What is really funny is the makeup of the Legislative Panel that looked into this little affair was made up of 10 Republicans and only 4 Democrats.
Let McCain's Campaign Guru's try and spin that little fact. Kind of hard to claim in was the Democrat's Political motives when there was only 4 of them damn Democrat's and the Alaska State Legislature is also Republican controlled.

For the purposes of my own amusement... it's the same thing.
But, obviously, I mean to vote for Obama. It took me WEEKS to come to terms with this... but I truely believe that a McCain presidency would be detrimental and even dangerous. So I've long since put aside my concerns about Obama (the biggest among them being his clearly Socialist and anti-gun politiks).
I've picked my team. And I'm rooting for them.

I can understand wasting a vote- I've done it myself. I voted for Badnerik in 2004.

No, what's really funny is that you fail to mention that Palin is not well liked by the Alaska Republican machine. She ran against an incumbent governor, exposed the massive corruption going on in her own party, and was elected by the people against the will of that party. She has an 80%+ approval rating in her state. Even though Alaska is majority Republican, I highly doubt that it's 80%, which means plenty of Democrats liek her, too.
If you look at the report, they found no wrong done by the governor. They did find that she knew that her husband was working to get the guy in question fired. I guess being the spouse of the governor means you forfeit your own right to free speech. Maybe that's why we never hear anything from Mr. Kathleen Sebelius.
However, the fact remains that the whole incident revolved around a state trooper who tazed a ten-year-old. I don't understand how the cop-haters among this group (you know who you are) aren't cheering her on in trying to get the bastard fired.

After cleaning up some of the corruption in Alaska, it is no surprise they were gunning for her. They wanted to go back to the business as usual. The bipartisan business of corruption. Corruption in politics knows few enemies.
If McCain/Palin ticket gets elected we will have someone heading up the senate that may well clean up some of the corruption there. Republicans included. Fighting corruption is also bipartisan.
If Obama/Biden gets the nod it will be corrupt business as usual. Biden would be unaware that he is the head of the Senate. Unless we can get him into an eighth-grade remedial civics class.

The report found that Palin let the family grudge influence her decision-making even if it was not the sole reason Monegan was dismissed. "I feel vindicated," Monegan said. "It sounds like they've validated my belief and opinions. And that tells me I'm not totally out in left field."
Branchflower said Palin violated a statute of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.
Palin and McCain's supporters had hoped the inquiry's finding would be delayed until after the presidential election to spare her any embarrassment and to put aside an enduring distraction as she campaigns as McCain's running mate in an uphill contest against Democrat Barack Obama.
But the panel of lawmakers voted to release the report, although not without dissension. There was no immediate vote on whether to endorse its findings.
"I think there are some problems in this report," said Republican state Sen. Gary Stevens, a member of the panel. "I would encourage people to be very cautious, to look at this with a jaundiced eye."
The nearly 300-page report does not recommend sanctions or a criminal investigation.
The investigation revealed that Palin's husband, Todd, has extraordinary access to the governor's office and her closest advisers. He used that access to try to get trooper Mike Wooten fired, the report found.
Branchflower faulted Sarah Palin for taking no action to stop that. He also noted there is evidence the governor herself participated in the effort. AddThis Social Bookmark Button
