| I've just never understood why they found this to be attractive. One of the worst practices I ever heard of. It's very repulsive as well as cruel. Maybe it was first done more to prevent prized women from running away and over time it just evolved into a twisted fetish. | |

| The foot binding is horrible! Apparently, they started when the little girl was 3 to 5 years old. "Its purpose was to produce a tiny foot, the "golden lotus", which was three inches long and thought to be both lovely and alluring." Grotesque...I can't imagine doing this to your child...breaking their toes (all except the big toe to give them balance) and twisting them under? Info on foot binding | |
