As a side note, why is it that all the news links on this site are from Fox news, is that the only channel out here or something? I sure hope not, I tend to like my news a bit less filtered and a bit less angry.

They are Germans-their heritage and they are predominate here in Ellis Coundty.

Ahh, The Volga/Russia/German thing. Well if that is supposed to be why there is a conservative radio channel and much posting of Fox links then they must have lost touch with the Fatherland. Last I checked they were getting pretty damned liberal over there.

Not that I mind, I am neither "bleeding heart tax and spend liberal" nor a "let the band play while we sink into the icy water" conservative. I was just making an observation.

There's different variants of Germanic descent here. The Volga German gets alot of publicity, but my dad's family emigrated earlier than most German families here in the 1860's and were from just north of Berlin with no known Russian heritage.

Modern Germany has gotten a little strange for sure. You'll find a mix of politics here. I know alot of die hard republicans and alot of liberal democrats. I'm an independant with more of a libertarian view than anything else.

If Hitler was on the $20 it'd probably mean Germany won the war and any Jews still alive would have bigger worries.

The point being that our fella gracing the 20 is responsible for mass genocide of the native american folk. Hitler being on a modern day Euro note would be no different.
