Help with Christmas gift

What in the hell does an 8 year old boy want??(step-kiddo)he said he wanted a light saber-got it.Bakugan set- $40.00-got it
need some other gift ideas-rather be cheap and get him more but I really never been around 8yr old boys.

I'm trying to decide right now what to do, I have my computer back up and going again which is running better than ever. So my dilemma is do I go ahead buy a laptop after Christmas or use the money and buy myself an xbox 360? What do i do?

Legos make great gifts for kids that age ...unless he already has some

A buttload of his favorite candy is always a good filler. Scientific stuff was great for me. Bugs, astronomy, chemistry, dinosaurs, etc. Hard to go wrong with dinosaur stuff. Fishing gear is good too. And sports stuff might be good.

I remember my son liking GI Joe's and those little geen soldier guys. He would line the sides of the bathtub up with those little guys all around like it was a fortress. It was funny stuff.

How about a gift card to his favorite store? I used to give them to my niece and nephew. They thought they were "credit cards" and were so excited to pick out whatever they wanted!

Maybe a drum set?

I used to build elaborate combat scenes outdoors with bridges, rivers, bunkers, and tons of plastic army men and then attack it with fireworks and BB guns. If there was another kid we'd both set up and attack each others men. I even had pre-made dead soldiers with holes made from hot nails and red paint to look like they were machine gunned. It was alot of fun.

I figured they would have something like that. Hell who wouldn't want to spend some christmas money at the Lions Den especially when someones grandma gives them money for christmas. Imagination could be better than reality because when you were playing pretend it always went your way. Shame we lose that power of childhood. Well, it still can work sometimes in adults who are really drunk or stoned..... Or just psychotic.

If he just got a DS, why not accessories for it, travel case, etc. Hastings, Walmart, and Gamestop have a nice selection. Or just a game for it, or a gift card to one of these places to pick out his own game/accessories.

My son, 8 also, wants an mp3 player, rockband, and a new "White Chocolate" skate board. He's also is getting guitar hero for his DS.
