Big Brother 10

So what's the appeal of that show and the dozen or more similar clones? I watched the first Survivor show but stopped when I realized it was really about back stabbing, silly games, and hamming it up for the cameras instead of actually surviving.

I don't really think that any of the others are like this one. Similar yes, but this one is just different. I've never gotten into survivor, and its been awhile since I watched the amazing race. There is a fair amount of back stabbing and silly games involved in big brother but I think it's interesting to compare what the live blogs etc. have to say in comparison to what CBS chooses to air.
If you want to watch a reality show that isn't about silly games- you can try out So You Think You Can Dance (on Fox Wed. and Thurs nights). I enjoy it (because the dancing is awesome,) and there is always one or two dancers that become my favorites. It claims to not be the dancing version of American Idol, but you'll have to judge for yourself. I see some similarities- but enjoy SYTYCD much more than Idol.

I cant wait!! I love to see how the people interact with each other, its great!!!!

I'm just not a fan of the "competition" shows anymore. Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, Dr. G, etc. are more my type.

I watch old shows on TV Land, Sci Fi channel, movies, and science and history shows most. The past treats me far better than the present.

History Channel has been on most of the day. Maybe something will be learned through osmosis.

I did watch about ten minutes of Big Brother tonight. I was surprised that most of them looked normal and an old geezer was on there. Some of those past episodes have resembled freak shows. Not sure why so many past Big Bro participants looked like crack heads and refugees from bad MTV videos.

They had a food competition and someone won a car, Older car
They put up two people that already had a few words with each other
Nothing too much, it was exciting tho!!!

The hubby and son-in-law went to races last night and we went tonight. Just got out of the shower. Did anyone see Bud Lee win?? That's my 72 year old dad doing 100 mph laps out there!

Plus, we start Childbirth Prep classes on Tuesdays, so I'm going to have to try and remember to tape it on the VCR on Tuesdays.

I think you might be right- its just convincing the hubby to show me how to do it (and remembering to keep a tape in there!)

I'd love to, but Doc is discouraging any further trips to Hays until this baby is out! He's worried about labor on I70!

I thought setting the VCR's to record soaps and other assorted feminine TV extravaganzas deemed necessary to life was kind of like required know how for you ladies.

nope,not me either-i dont watch much tv,and they were kinda confusing to set if i remember right!!i can set my tivo though

Oh I could handle the DVR. The VCR escapes me though.

Back to Big Brother though- I think Brian new he sealed his own fate. It'll be interesting to see how Jessie handles HOH. Does anyone else think he resembles the Hulk when his arm muscles are all bulging out?

Nope. I'm sure that they all had to have physicals before entering the house. And- there's medical staff around all the time. (We learned that last season when the two girls had medical emergencies on the same night)
