It's certainly a life sentence for the child victim, that affects many aspects of their lives, for the rest of their lives!

I have mixed feelings here. I'm in favor of mandatory execution in cases where the victim (any age) dies, or was tortured, and think capitol punishment should be allowed in cases of repeat violent offenders, also regardless of the age of their victims. I am concerned that in the one case, the girl first said two boys did it and didn't point to the stepfather until 20 months later. His attorney also claims blood tests were inconclusive and that she may have been pressured to change her story.

That leaves just enough doubt that I couldn't agree with the death penalty. There have been documented cases where children were coached to say what the prosecution wanted to hear. So while I'm in favor of this penalty in certain cases, I see a need for extreme caution.

There's mention by some of you of what this girl has to live with. What if as an adult she suddenly realizes that it didn't really happen that way but the man is already dead? I would suggest that especially if it's a family member or close friend there should be a waiting period long enough for the child to be in their teens before the execution. It's difficult to guess how it'd affect the kid long term to know someone they may have been close to was executed based on their testimony.

many -people block things from their past and maybe the Adult would not remember all the details from beginning to end.....so what they ACTUALLY say while they are in their childhood is really what happened?

Not always. I had about a year when I was in 3rd or 4th grade that I told really wild tales for attention. Once I made up a story that got some adults I knew in trouble and for a long time I was scared to tell them I made it up.

True not always but I do know for certain in SOME cases, adults cant remember exactly what happened, at that time, it is very dramatic for a young one to hold on too!

There's always going to be variable factors. As much as I'd like to personally execute some of those I've heard of I'd still insist on their guilt being proven absolute. I know of a boy that accused some adults of taking nude photos of him. It was found he was spinning a tall tale but still very traumatic for the accused. I knew a man who was on the sex offender list who I'm convinced was innocent. He was in the middle of a split up and the girls mother coached her to say he fondled her. When talking about the death penalty things like that must be carefully considered.

youre right there will always be those cases, and in those cases I hope to hell they are proven innocent!! But to those who rape young children and are proven GUILTY, death!!!!

I can think of a couple that should die by slow torture like their victims did. And as I said, I think the really bad ones that habitually rape adults should be considered for execution too.

If it was my child, and the offender was proven guilty without doubt, the death penality would have ben expidited.
