What have you got against a city with a real NFL team?

traffic, crime, all that jazz.

I figure in ranking the things I'd consider important in a city their pro sports teams would be about 9925 on the list. Now if Rollerball was a real sport, or if they'd bring back the gladiatorial combat of ancient Rome, I might pay to watch those.

Just kidding. I watch a little sports, but I'm not into it to the point any team means shit to me. Most years past I didn't know who was in the Superbowl until the day of play.

I wasn't kidding about Rollerball and gladiators though. That would be cool as hell. Death Race 2000 with Carradine would be an exciting sport and even though it was made out like a game show, The Running Man with Schwarzenegger would be an awsome sport. No crybabies whining that their multi million dollar salaries aren't enough in that kind of thing. You just win, or die.

I want to move back to Salina.

I lived in Denver from 2002 - 2004, the very first night I moved in SWAT raided the apartment two doors down at 3 in the morning. My car was broken into 5 times in two years. My apartment was robbed twice. I worked for Lowes and the store I was assigned to was robbed at gunpoint, was ranked THE WORST in the compnay for shrink (inventory missing), Over the two years I apprehended 138 people for shoplifting and prosecuted 22 employees for theft.

As I was. If I was serious about that, I wouldn't be living so close to Kansas City.

And I can't imagine slickjay ever wanting to live in downtown Oakland.

Besides, if she's that in love with Denver, she'd probably go completely bonkers over Colorado Springs or Breckenridge.

Back in 2000, Oz and I went to the KISS/Ted Nugent/Skid Row concert at Fiddler's Green. It happened to be the one day that year that it broke 100 degrees at DIA, and she was wearing leather pants. She got a bit toasty, even in Denver.

I love Salina too. I have a good friend that lives there that I would love it if she moved back, but I doubt she ever will. She loves it there too.

Topeka has gotten so bad, crime-wise. Maybe my husband's boss is right...maybe I do need to carry a gun. It's pretty sad when you don't feel safe walking from the parking lot into Wal-mart.

If I could live any where I wanted.......I would live at the coast. The temp.is more even, and I love every thing about it! The only thing is .....the humidity. I would have to find a place with less humidity. Not Denver.~~ LOL ~~I would like to visit Denver, like a number other places, L.A., San Deigo, Portland or Seattle,or Las Vegas, yet, not live there. Can~on City, Colorado I like because there is so much to see and do. The city of Colorado Springs right close. There are so many places I would like to go...........ENDLESS. Ellis County is on the list of "Best Rural Place to Live," but seriously, watch this video and tell me that you wouldn't want to live there. It's also on the list of "Best Cities to Live in the U.S."

I'm pretty sure that the scene where the people are cross country skiing is in the winter.

Yeah, but the thing is, they take it as routine. Snow days just didn't happen when I was a kid. Of course, I lived on an island where everyone could walk, but the snow removal equipment was out immediately and there was plenty of equipment to keep the city going.

We could also talk about the obscene windchills in Kansas that you won't generally find there. i'd much rather have it 20 degrees with the snow all off the roads than have it 25 degrees with a wind that makes it feel like 20 below zero and snow and ice that depends on the "solar removal" process.

And furthermore, they're never going to have 115 degrees with 40 mile per hour winds that make it feel like a blast furnace, either.
