| This takes me right back to when I was usually the last to be picked for PE team in school. How painful. I would question the teacher's license to teach and to lead a class of impressionable Kindergarteners. | |

It's in the first post... the whole message is a link to the article. It's truely heartbreaking for the family, I'm sure.

| I'm in awe that the state attorney's office deemed this incident non-abusive. An ADULT AUTHORITY led a group of peers to emotionally abuse another by guiding them to say negative things about him. I wonder if the children were a bit older and the statements made about Alex were more "socially offensive" that this would be looked upon differently by authorities.
Demeaning another person is abuse; but publicly demeaning them would be considered libel, wouldn't it?

| Since when does a kindergarten teacher have the authority to oust a kid, much less by class vote? Sounds like a teacher needs to return to school themself.
The family has grounds for a lawsuit. Yes, this could be considered libel. And while a school has the right to put a problem student in a special class, no teacher has the right to have one voted out by a bunch of 5 year olds. And since the principal won't condemn the teachers actions, I'd say a lawsuit might be in order.
