| Fox News dug up dirt on a democrat. What a shock from the "unbiased" news source. I find this link more interesting. >>LINK HERE<< - Quote :
- After studying more than 60 scandals over the past 20 years involving all politicians or major candidates for city mayor and above—many involved crimes, others just allegations, but all wound up as tabloid fodder—some conclusions can be reached.
• The number of sex scandals has increased dramatically over the past few decades, thanks to technology, new press standards and a post-Clinton belief that everything is fair game.
• Republicans have more scandals (34 to 27), but Democrats have bigger ones, based on our methodology (13 out of the top 20).
• Democrats tend to have more problems with harassment, staffers and underage girls; Republicans tend to have more problems with prostitutes, hypocrisy and underage boys.

Fox didn't "dig up" anything. Weiner did it to himself. In his denial press conference last week, it was a CNN reporter who pressed him to verify that the photo wasn't him. He refused to do so and called the reporter a jackass. The soap operas aren't confined to Democrats. Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger recently confessed to cheating for decades and had a child he hid from his family and the public for years. John Edwards was cheating on his wife while she was in treatment for the cancer that eventually took her life. He, too, had a child with another woman and hid it from his family and the public. He is now accused of using campaign contributions to finance his cover-up and faces prison time for his actions. Not that long ago, Newt Gingrich was cheating on one of his ex-wives while haranguing Bill Clinton over Monica Lewinsky and Paula Jones. A few other names come to mind: Al Gore, Mark Foley, Jesse Jackson Sr., Jesse Jackson Jr., Mark Sanford, Larry Craig... The list goes on and on. Some people argue that these people's private lives should not be of concern to the public. A counter-argument is that people who lie about their private lives are also likely to lie about official business as well. Could they also lie about global warming or the war on drugs or the necessity of a trillion and a half dollar "bailout"? So what's my point? That Republicans are more honest than Democrats, or vice-versa? Actually, no. My point is this: human beings are fallible, and many of us are dishonest and easily corrupted. All this makes a good case for why government should have as little power as possible. When human beings have the power to control other human beings' lives, our natural fallibility makes us very dangerous. What's worse, power tends to corrupt us and make us even more dishonest, conniving, and cruel. Humans are fundamentally imperfect, and we will always be imperfect. We need politicians who understand this problem, and who will stand on principle to take power away from government, and return it to the individual.

| He should resign and become the other half of Eliot Spitzer's show on CNN. "Spitzer & Weiner." Perfect. | |

| Good reply EP. Nice to see you aren't taking sides. But I have noticed you have a rather strong tendency to point out the failures of democrats with very little focus on the opposite side of the aisle. Which was my only reason for reminding the readers that bad habits are not a democrat monopoly. | |
