Stonepost Apartments in Hays, Kansas is proud to say that our first resident moved in November 16, 2007 and still lives in our community. The property has very strict qualification guidelines an applicant has to pass in order to live with us. We do credit and criminal background checks on each adult and verify income and assets that are approved or denied by a third party. Management does physical inspections quarterly on all apartments and any issues we find that are not in compliance with our lease and the rules and regulations are handled according to our policies and procedures guidelines. We work within the fair housing guidelines daily and try to provide a comfortable place for people to call home. Unfortunately we cannot control every situation but do respond when it is brought to our attention. We are very proud of our community and with our management company and if you have any questions regarding our policies and procedures we invite you out to the property to visit with us.

This, however, is a little confusing. Aren't these apartments for low income people? The background check I can see, but do they charge the low income applicants for it? Is the income and asset verification to make sure they don't make too much money?

What do the fair housing guidelines say about denying residence to mental patients? Some of the most dangerous individuals have no criminal record, but the psychiatrists might have an extensive history on them and the medical community isn't about to give you access to their records. Mentally ill individuals tend to end up in low income housing pretty often.

And are all your residents legally in the US? I hear Washington Grade School is beginning to think English is a foreign language.

Pffffffffffft was that way long before those apartments were built.

Doesn't disqualify my question L2C. If anything it makes you wonder if the arrival of so many "out of state" residents of varied ethnic heritage might be what the apartment builders had in mind.
