During a conversation about the Dresden incindiary bombing runs I asked a WWII vet what he thought of the hundreds of thousands of kids and other innocents who were roasted alive during the allied fire bombings on German cities. He said they deserved it after what they did. Why he thought innocent kids and old ladies had anything to do with the death camps, or deserved to die in fire because of what their leaders did has no logical explanation, but it seems a common mindset during wars.
