| For those of you who've been in Hays for a while... Is the parade the same as it was 25 years ago? Are there actual floats? How long does it usually last? I want to take my girls so they can see a real parade (if it is still the same), instead of these small town things that are full of farm implements, firetrucks and police cars. Yep, that's all they have out here. LOL... it's sad. Thanks! | |

| About the same here. Years ago many marching bands were included but because of economic issues, that's no longer a part besides local schools.....Lots of candy being tossed though. | |

In Ellis they have horses, not sure about Hays. Your kids could experience the excitement of watching all the following entries run over road apples. Or they could pick them up and wait till cars go by with politicians in them.

| The horses are at the end, so no one steps in 'em. Is that not how it is out there? | |

| I've seen horses in all different parts. I guess they figure participants in a small town Western KS parade aren't set back by horse shit. In Ellis nobody cleans it up after the parade either. It's just like the squirrels that get run over. They just get flattened and ground up by traffic. I saw a flattened squirrel one time pick up in a wind gust and fly through the air like a little squirrel kite. | |

| It was oddly humorous. Like something from a cartoon. | |

| Well, Hell..... I guess we'll go back for the HS homecoming parade (not that it would be any better than FHSU). Will avoid 25th HS reunion at all cost, tho. | |

Why? I wondered about going to our 30th but it turned out decent.

| I guess mine was just interesting since I'd never been to one and I moved out of Hays before my class graduated. So it'd been at least 30 years since I saw most of my class. | |

| Suz they actually get better the older you get. Our class was pretty cliquey in high school but I found at our 25th people really didn't care about that stuff anymore. Most folks were really friendly. I was glad I went. | |

Went to my 20th expecting to hang out with the guys I ran with in HS. Ended up playing golf with the people who barely spoke to me back then.

| I noticed something similar nitro. Some I never expected to be friendly were. And alot of those I did hang out with in school won't go to reunions now. Can't say I'm likely to take up golf, but who I can relate to the best now verses the 70's has changed alot. | |
