It was definitely a "right place, right time" play, just as "The Immaculate Reception" was back in the 70s. And the Broncos may not win that many games this season, but the defense was a pleasant surprise yesterday and while Orton may not be great, he only made one glaring mistake, as compared to the four interceptions thrown by Cutler last night. And he got the ball away, unlike a certain Brodie Croyle, who fumbled away any chance Kansas City had of an upset. Darn.

Some kind of conspiracy theory here, too? Anyone still question whether Brady is back?

| What is up with those damn Faiders tonight??? I just hope this is a 1 week fluke with them. Yeah Brady really surprised me tonight. I guess New England is back but it still doesn't change the fact i still hate em and Tom Brady. | |

I'd actually like to see them win. Any loss by the Lightning Bolts is good, especially in the division. Kansas City and Oakland aren't as worrisome in the season-long perspective. Oops, San Diego just scored to take the lead. In a related story, Steve Young has left the broadcast booth and is on the sideline sucking off Phillip Rivers. Uhrlacher is out for the season. Too bad. He's fun to watch.

I wouldn't be too awfully happy. Jamarcus Russell sucks. How about the play that Ray Lewis made on Sproles to seal the game? How about the "old men"? Kurt Warner was 24 of 26 passing - a single game completion percentage record. And Brett Favre was 23 of 27. Not bad for a relic. But perhaps the greatest feat of the week was this.

Agreed! Okay, maybe this was just as good. This story kinda hit me. Where some schools have had rivalries that lasted so long no one knows why, these guys created a bond that may last a lifetime. It comes partly from the style of coaching these kids got, I suspect.

Hahahaha! Miami picked up Tyler Thigpen from the Chefs today. Now when (not if) Cassell goes down, they're stuck with Brodie Croyle.

Maybe Al will just return to coaching the team himself. Or there's always Art Shell.

| Denver 17, Dallas 10
The Cowboys tried to beat Champ on both 3rd down and 4th down in the final 10 seconds at the Denver 2.
I always suspected that Wade Phillips was the dumbest coach in the league when he was coaching the Broncos. He verified that at the end of the game today.

If you look at the numbers, he still sucks. But the key is that he's playing within the system, not trying to be the hero and not doing anything to hurt the team. He's been a little lucky on a few throws and he's had receivers turn into defensive backs a few times, like Marshall did tonight, but the one interception that he has thrown was inconsequential. I also thought it might be a long season because I wasn't sure the team was buying into McDaniels' program. I think that question has been answered now.

| Ran the rest of Denver's season through whatifsports.com. Estimates they'll finish 12-4 with losses to Ravens, Colts, Eagles away and OAKLAND at home. | |

Only one that were worse are the "Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream/Barbershop Quartet" ones worn by the Officials.

They'd be more likely to lose to the Giants, Steelers, Chiefs or Chargers at home.
