I think it's hilarious since some of their early posters apparent mission was to derail this site as being nothing but an unfriendly gossip forum. Now their star poster is someone who got booted here for being unfriendly. That's just amusing as hell.

Have you sign up at My Town Forum? We aren't the only game in town if you aren't happy here. It is people like mike and slider that made this place less than friendly. We are always trying to improve the quality here. If you have some suggestions you would like to share, we are open for ideas.

Other than differences of opinion on music, and the same slams on Michael Jackson that can be found across the web I havn't seen much hostility here since mike and slider went out the door. Yeah, there's been a few smart assed remarks but they were more sarcastic humor than malicious.

In the past 2 or 3 weeks there have been posts regarding celebrity deaths, Wild West Fest activities, weather, North Korean activities, as well as other political news, VA healthcare concerns, the abortion issue, new computer programs, and a Marine who ran 100 miles to honor his fallen comrades. And a few happy birthdays were added in.

If that is all just gossip to you feel free to post a new topic so we can know what you consider important enough to post about.

I've see some users of message boards with over 100,000 posts. So what's the point? And why the irritation towards me? Did you prefer the nonsensical insolent ranting of slider and trolling and slams of mike?

I always thought that a forum was to allow a person to express themselves or offer and opinion on a topic without discrimination.
It seems to me when that happens it pisses off a few people and if you don't like what's said you boot that person because he or she is expressing themselves.
It's people like Mike and Slider who make things interesting, but according to a few of you who appear to be close to each other make the decision what's good and what's bad. Kind of reminds me of the government. They have taken away all of our rights and now you are doing the same. It's called Freedom of Speech. Granted, certain things said should be curbed but not denied from being expressed. If it offends anyone then they should have the right to defend themselves without interference.
That's why I have not been on daily like I was in the begining, because it's the same old bullshit. It seems to me that we are not allowed to defend ourselves if someone says something negative about us. Which I think we should be allowed to do. Just because you don't like it, does not give you the right to deny us to express the way we feel. That's pretty damn lame. And if you decide to boot me off here because of what i said-point made.

But crutch, it wasn't mike expressing his opinion on anything that got him booted. It was his coming on here in the middle of the night, creating posts that were nothing but cuss words, one post after another, as well as being disrespectful of other members. It took quite a bit of time to clean up his mess, each time he did that because it wasn't just a one time thing. He did it just because he knew no one was up at that hour.

Most of the stuff we took off as objectionable was taken off before you were up to check the site yourself. We also warned him numerous times. He refused to heed the warnings. Eventually he was banned.

As long as you are respectful you shouldn't ever have a problem here. Should you post something we are not comfortable with, we will remove it and politely caution you.
After that you will receive a few warnings prior to us banning you. We do try to work with you.

It is probably the fact that we clean up the site rather quickly that you have the impression we are intolerant.

I was totally unaware of any offensive language being used buy anyone as i'm not on as often as I stated and and definitely not on in the early morning hours. Totally understand. I still think if an idea or opinion is expressed buy someone and not directly with a finger pointed, they should be allowed to respond.

If a debate on any subject should occur and if someone gets offened by it, we/they should be allowed to respond without interjection in my opinion. I think for the most part we are all adults and mature enough to handle any situation unless in gets out of hand.

Usually,I root for the underdog which may be a flaw of mine but at the same time,if someone gets in my face I let them know where I stand one way or another. Thats life.

Heated debate is great... it's encouraged, but it can and should be done without name calling and inflammatory remarks intended to create conflict.

I am on in the late night hours. mike liked trolling and would call individuals things he knew would infuriate them just for kicks. slider would go off on manic streams of just pure obscenity and hatred. mike I'm sure was just entertaining himself by pissing others off. slider on the other hand might be certifiably disturbed.

Both of them could say interesting things, but mike was trolling and screwing around with the site and slider just got way too rabid.

This is only true as long as it falls within the guidelines set forth by the boards owner. Message boards by and large are not created as a place for people to flame others on a minute by minute basis. As it was, NB & staff were VERY, VERY tolerant of these two dummies. On many other boards they'd have been banned permanently after the first couple of offenses. I myself thought they were too lenient and Im just glad they are gone for good now. Much nicer around here.

crutch, I would love to see debates, and I am more than open to people expressing their opinion as long as it is done in a decent manner. When people go off, call names, cuss nonstop I don't tolerate it. This is MY board, and I am a relatively tolerant person.

It doesn't bother me that the admins/ moderators of this board do what they do. I can certainly see where they were justified on booting Mike and Slider- but I do think it is sad that we can't add new members anymore. Hopefully Justoo will find the info that NB needs

I didn't mean you were defending mike. I was just pointing out the difference between your sarcastic taunts, and those of the rest of us for that matter, as opposed to mike and slider.

I agree sliders tantrums were so absurd they were often funny as hell. And in calm states he was good to converse with. But most didn't see him that way.

Well Roadstar, if you don't like my posts, why not try to refute them? This glorius demonstration of religious grace and kindness was on the news tonight, so it's no heathen fabrication I made up and I think what's crap here is obviously not my posting of it.

I find it interesting how the religious in this world consider it their duty to point fingers until it's their own kind that are in the wrong and then it's defend the faith to the limit no matter how absurd it may be.

Yes, I realize you probably talk among others in your circle of wrongs like this fight between the monks, but you don't say it too loudly. It disturbs you when I or another non-religious person points out these flaws in the holy kingdom, but we only do so because we know you never will.
