Darn it's hot! How are you staying COOL?

Summer's here. I'm staying in my A/C to stay COOL!

Pool water is 92° again, today. Yuck.

my pool is at 80 degrees

One of my favorites to do when the water was too warm was to put the hose in and swim in circles to stir up the warm/cold water.

It's over-full as it is, with all the rain we've gotten. I think the neighbors would howl, if we let any water out. The ground is just now starting to dry out. Oh, well....

When I'm at work in that hot tin building I'd be happy to have a warm pool. Right now I'm sitting in front of an air conditioner though so all is well.

I work in a 73 degree control room

Stay in front of the fan when possible... drink lots of water. Don't work so hard. No big deal.

Its 5a.m. in the persian gulf.......98 degree's and 100% humidity. guess hot is a relitive term

Today didn't seem as bad as yesterday but the breeze we had today helped a bit. I'm thinking about trying some fishing tomorrow morning before it gets hot.

That's a good point. When I talked to my Clone weekend before last, he said that he's already seen the temperature at Al Asad get to 118 degrees in the shade.

Hottest I've ever seen was 115... according to the bank sign on Main St. in Hays.

I have seen 118 in Russell I think it was in 1996

I saw 125° at Worlds of Fun about 15 years ago. About died that day. Stinkin' asphalt!

Hottest (recorded) temp I ever saw was when I was at Cross MFG in about 1980. Temps in the area were from the 110 to 120 range and that day the mercury in a thermometer in the building that went up to 132 surpassed that mark. I lived on salt pills and quart glasses of water that week. Poured the first glass of water in me, and a second one over my head.

That's a fact! The two times I visited Phoenix, it sucked! I could never live there! Since my WOF incident, I just can't handle the heat.

Back when Kauffman Stadium was Royals Stadium and it had artificial turf, it wasn't uncommon for the on-field temperature to be 140 or higher at the start of an afternoon game. Hell, and that was back when they didn't make such outrageous salaries.

Phoenix isn't for me either. I don't care if it's a dry heat.It's still way too hot. It's nice there in the winter months though.

109 when i knocked off today at 11 am. i stay cool by staying close to my office....... all this water and we are not allowed to get in. i think it is a sin!

The longest heat wave I was in with temp.s 3=digits was in Sayer OK back in 1979. 45 days of it beening that hot and due to have a a baby that summer.wow I'm old!

122 in Phoenix

Just got back to Phoenix on Mon following a week in Kansas. It is 108 today. Funny year though, we had a very cool June for Az. Several weeks of lower then average temps.
I can put up with the heat to never have to deal with snow or ice, but hey to each their own.

I'm just a little scared to see the next gas/electricity bill come in the mail. I am constantly turning off the AC (when no one is around to see!)

I'd have to find the right records, but I think Hill City once reported 120 back in the 80's and somewhere near Hays had 121. Mom said it was wicked hot during the dust bowl and remembered 120 degree days then. Lack of vegetation increases the heat, so plant a tree.
