KZRS - Star 107.9 Off the air?

Has anyone heard why I can't find this anymore?? Did they lose a tower or something?

I noticed that too, and I like that channel....when you only have 3 to choose from....

i havent been able to get it for like 3-4 days, SUCKS!!!

I miss Bob and Sheri.

You can go to bobandsheri.com and listen online, at least, or download their podcast and listen later in the day. Not the same, I know, but at least you can still get it.

there transmitter is on the KOOD tower where I work. The transmission line running to the antenna was flopping in the wind last week. They have to get a tower climber out to fix it. There is only one climber in the area so he is busy.

Man I bet he gets a good paycheck!!!

ME too, Im bummed because KJLS really doesnt cut it in the early morning hours at work. Dustin & Kallie are waaaaaaaaaaaay less than Bob & Sherri.

What does KZRS play? If it's even remotely like 103 it can stay off. I have two slogans I use for 103.

I dont listen to it for the music so much as Bob & Sherri from 5:30am-9am in the mornings at work.

So what is Bob and Sherri? A talk show? Not being smart ass, I just never have listened to that station.

I just went to Sirius. Love it. Decided I had had enough of terrestrial (holy cow, did I spell that correctly??) radio. The record industry ruined it.

Internet radio is the only other option. But people need to be creative.

Aw,..."creative" there is a word I miss. Feeling like what we did made a difference. Sirius is excellent. I pick apart other broadcasts, specially locally. Some need a sabbatical. I do love my little stream and all the folks that take time to listen. Thanks for your support!

I love what you are doing. I love that anyone is taking the leap out to put their own broadcast on the net. My only request from the entire movement ( and this goes for 80% of Sirius as well) is to get away from the Jukebox concept.

What I mean is: terrestreriairiral radio has such a limited play list. This is where Sirius and Net radio jumps in. Bigger play list, play more cool songs, get away from the drone rotation.

However, just playing a bigger list of songs over and over isnt enough.

This is where I mean "be creative." Have shows that spot light certain styles, or artists, or flavors. Each show may only target a smaller group of the whole, but if each show is only an hour long, then there is room for Lots and Lots and LOTS of people to get what they want. 1 hour of a certain band (with commentary to make it interesting), then move to something about Jazz, Then another artist, then War songs, etc....
Does that make sense?

Personally, I have 20 different concepts for 1 hour shows that I would love to produce and put on the air. Surely other people would like to do that, and listen to it?

Yeah the rotations are short....I try to add in more "stuff" not just the favorites. I like you ideas but for now I have to get over this cold. Remember in College when I would loose my voice??? It is one of those colds with bigger teeth. Hang in there Rick!

What I am getting at is this... How many of you (by you I mean any of the readers of this forum) have ever thought "I would love to hear a radio show about......" or, "if I had a radio show, I would play only music by....."

So, now is the chance for people to do this. Internet is your place. Al, think of it as College Radio for the masses.

All you need is a computer, a microphone, some music, and software to put it together (PODCAST)...

Let's get creative.
