Did you know Robert Conrad (later Cannon TV show) played Matt Dillon on the radio?

Goodnight Gracie. It was William Conrad in the radio version of "Gunsmoke" Robert Conrad was a much smaller guy, he played James West in "The Wild Wild West and Pappy Boyington in "Black Sheep Squadron"

the guy you're thinking of is Bob Crane in "Hogans Heroes" I just listened to a Gunsmoke episode and in the ending credits the announcer said the part of Doc was played by Howard McNear. He would be known better a Floyd the barber on "The Andy Griffith Show" At the halfway point, the had a short announcement encouraging all citizens to join the Civil Defense and help guard our borders against intruders. Boy we could sure use that now.

I must admit, somewhat painfully, that this is beginning to happen to me sometimes, too. But NOT as early as 4:37 a.m.!
