That was a close one...

So, I am heading east on I-70, doing about 73 mph in the right hand lane. Out of nowhere comes this HUGE pheasant, it hits my windshield right in front of my face. The windshield shattered but only a dusting of glass shards ended up on the dashboard and me. I somehow kept control of the van, very calmly pulled over onto the shoulder, called my supervisor (I was in the company van on a stock run) and managed to get the van into the parking lot in Russell, I had to drive about 5 miles on the shoulder to get there. I couldn't see thru the windshield. I guess someone was watching out for me on Friday, I could have easily rolled the van, or veered into the other lane in front of a semi or the bird could have smashed through the window all the way and taken my head off, or a good part of my face, anyway. The funny thing is, when I got back to the office, I had to go and have a UA done. Corporate American never ceases to amaze me.

I barely missed a turkey flying across the highway, on the way to Topeka a few years ago. Scared the pee-wadden outta me! Glad you made it to town alright! Sounds like a close call.

It's not just a Hace thing cause mom is from Osborne County and she remembers it from way back. She has no idea what it means though.

Hey I'm sorry for laying those dookies in Massey. I thought it was funny at the time.

The one I saw do it was a girl with down syndrome. So I don't think it was you DX. And I kinda doubt you wore a one piece with flowers on it.
