Saw this one Facebook, a very noble cause Kansans for the removal of Fred Phelps as a resident of Kansas

From the Group page:

Pretty much were trying to tell the world that Kansans do not want to be associated with Fred Phelps. Visit his wikipedia site(linked below), this guy is absolutely crazy! Also visit such parodies of his real site as godhatesfigs.com and I think there are a few others like that. They're funny, I laughed at them anyways.

This group and all Kansans would like to apologize to all victims of Fred Phelps hate mongering and their families. I ask that everybody keep those who suffered through this and WBC in their prayers.

Easy, they are only expressing their disgust with a sick and twisted citizen of this Earth using the Religious Pulpit to spew a hateful and irrational use of Religion to harm innocent people who's loved ones gave their lives in service to their Country, only to have a sick and twistes bunch of Religious Zealots convalute the First Amendment to use it to torture the families who are only trying to lay their loved ones to rest. I am going to venture a guess here that phelps was molested as a child and that is why he is the way he is. Or he is secretly gay and as Shakespeare wrote " Me thinks he dost protest too loudly"

Looks to me like Phelps was just a nut to begin with and that interracting with things in society he didn't like had a cumulative effect. Everything you do against this sort only magnifies their rage and gives them another target, another reason to continue. He's not unlike the Islamic radicals who rally around a martyr. Totally ignoring Phelps as if you can't even see him would ruin his whole day.

A serious attempt to do this would be a clear violation of the constitution. These people want ot seek the denial of the same rights that the Phelpsies seek to deny to others. It wouldn't survive the first court hearing.

It is ironic, however, that the Phelpsies are the first ones to run to the same courts and police for protection that they trash in their writings and protests. Kinda reminds me of Bighead.

The fact that I saw it on Facebook doesn't mean I totally endorse it.

Just thought I'd post it here since the Phelp's have been a topic of some debate and/or ridicule on the Forum.

It is ironic that one of the daughters is an Attorney and she spends a good portion of her time running to the courts and screaming "foul" when their "Faux Church/Tax Dodge" is being critised for their ludicrous protests of Soldiers Funerals.

Never said that you endorsed it. And your second paragraph is exactly on point. The whole damn family are attorneys. One of them works for the state and has something to do with parole approvals. That's really sad. He decides whether someone stays in prison to be homosexually raped, yet he joins in their protests against homosexuals.
