it really was not necessary. The goverment in there wisdom decide that they wanted the analog channels that TV broadcast use to be able for private and general use.

| I think its dumb that the goverment has pressed this issue for the conversion and when it comes to crunch time they put it off. I feel that people have had enough time to get ready and its their own fault if they don't have the converter. No matter how much time we give people there will still be those who keep putting it off. | |

| Doesn't everyone have cable? No seriously,I would love to live without cable to save a buck-BUT I CAN'T!!!!It's too late-had it too long. It would be WAY different if we had all the stations like in the cities,I used to only have cable when I could afford it,here you don't have any choices......................Welcome to Hace | |

it really was not necessary. The goverment in there wisdom decide that they wanted the analog channels that TV broadcast use to be able for private and general use. It's actually called a technology mandate. It all started in the 80's to prevent superior technology from being ignored (i.e. BetaMax), but the government has been very selective as to which technologies fall into this criteria. I guarantee some lobbiests have some influence here.

Absolutely. This still has to be passed in its current form by the Senate and BO still has to sign it, but the people who haven't done what they need to get ready for the transition are the same dumbasses who vote Democrat, so it will most likely be passed and signed. They don't want six million people to be out of touch with the BO-worshipping network news. Those people might be forced to listen to evil talk radio. They can't risk these lemmings finding out that there is an opposing view.
