What's really sad is that every one of those scenarios that could happen just like that. Our country has gone from a brave free nation admired by most of the world to the bed wetters capitol.

So funny to read this! This morning my son wanted to take a wrench to school, so he can tighten his wheels on his skateboard after school, and my first thought was him being expelled for taking a "weapon" to school.

For every one of those scenarios, there's one of this type, too, though:

1958 - Johnny goes to school malnourished with bruises all over, teachers dismiss it as none of their business.

2008 - Johnny goes to school with bruises all over, teacher reports it to Child Protective Services, they pull Johnny out of a horribly abusive life and get him help.

1958 - Suzy is manic depressive. Principal recommends institutionalization for an indefinite period, most likely for life.

2008 - Suzy is manic depressive. With proper counseling and possibly medication, she goes to college and succeeds in life.

They later decide to find out by asking Johnny and he says that he just doesn't like to eat much and falls on his skates alot.

But then as an adult Johnny admits he lied and said his mom didn't feed him and his dad beat him to get even for them not buying his requested Christmas gifts. His mom becomes a whore to survive and his dad gets raped by a gang of prison fags. Johnny feels so guilty that he quits therapy and starts seeing Mistress Olga who kicks him in the groin with her jack boots twice a week.

But the psychiatrist tells her parents that she's just being a spoiled little bitch so daddy whips her ass and mommy gives her plenty of chores to keep her occupied.

But there's nothing really wrong with her except she's emo and putting on a big show for attention, and after two ugly goth girls in her Larned psychiatric unit sexually abuse her with a cucumber she begs her parents to take her home so she can go back to school. Smile

When you look at the examples given one should realize that we actually have taken steps backwards in society.Where has the common sense gone? Big Brother, is he really needed?

Somehow I sincerely doubt that in 1958 the local high school had TWENTY-ONE freakin varsity cheerleaders. SERIOUSLY? Do we need to have 21 cheerleaders going to away games? Hell do we even NEED 21 cheerleaders? It should also be noted that there is NO freshman cheer squad. Its apparently more important to take a thousand cheerleaders to the varsity games. Rolling Eyes

edited to add ( lest some cheer mommy jump me) These girls do an amazing job. I just think there's twice as many as are needed especially with all the budget cuts facing the schools at this time.

In 1958 only the most popular girls became cheerleaders. The rest were busy doing dishes for their mothers during cheer practice.

In 2008 girls don't do what their mothers want and word gets around that guys ask the girls for dates most often that can spread their legs really far during cheers. The lesbian principal likes that too and asks for extra money to fund cheerleading.
